Not sure why this restaurant has good reviews. Every meal i ate here was tasteless and cold. They just reheat in microwave. The prices are high for this kind of service. You can eat much cheaper anywhere else and much tastier food even in a...food stall on the street...More

The place looked nice, but it tuned out to be a scam for tourists. They have different menu for locals and tourists and different prices too. The size of the portions we ordered were tiny, seafood was not tasty and the chicken curry did not...taste much either A place to forgetMore

We do not understand the good ratings. The portions are ridiculously small and the price disproportionate. The portion of squid is indescribable, if not non-existent. The octopus, in addition to the minimal portion, was unchewable, so gummy. In short, a dinner to forget....

My hotel suggested this place and what a disappointment. * Busy & no one at the front door to take names/ seat people * My waiter finally showed up after 15 minutes * He has to walk downstairs and get a menu (I just took...one from another table once they were done) * I ordered via another waiter because my waiter was so slow * WIFI password is only given out by the owner (who of course was downstairs). Considering how busy the place is, I’d think he would maybe make it a little more easy? Sounds like he is cheap * My chicken tikka had other chicken parts in it other meat * Small salad that wasn’t even worth adding to the plate * The waiter never delivered my smoothie - so I got reimbursed on the wait out at cash There are definitely better spots.More

We heard so many amazing things so came with high expectations. Our waiter was the most enthusiastic and friendly guy so its hard to fault anything, and his recommendations for food were tasty. Unfortunately, we must have visited at a bad time as a lot...of what we wanted was finished and the alternatives were not really to our taste.More

The seating is on a first-come-first-served basis, so be prepared to wait a bit especially during peak times. Once you're ready to check out the array of dishes you might get pleasantly overwhelmed. It's an a la carte menu and you can choose fish, chicken,...meat, stewed veggies and starches. So much amazing food at great prices!!More

We made a quick stop for lunch here... service and food were great! We liked everything we tried, freshly made food and a great atmosphere! Good price range too.

We stopped for breakfast here. The food was nothing extraordinary but was freshly made. The coffee was lovely.

Lukmann was, by far, our favorite spot in Stone Town. We stumbled on it for dinner one night, and then had lunch there the next day. We all enjoyed the beans and rice (maharage na wali) and the chapatis were the best we’ve had (so...fresh!). We also loved the avocado salad and the many juices. The staff were friendly and efficient. They made us smile through our entire meal. We live in Dar and have talked about returning to Zanzibar just for Lukmann!!More

Excellent food for local prices! I highly recommend the red beans and rice and chapatis. I’ll be dreaming about that food for a long time! Our waiter was helpful and kind and kept our food coming even though we had a big group and hungry...kids.More
