This is a popular restaurant and it’s is not hard to realize why. Reservations are a necessity for a table at dinner time. Even then, we had to accept two seats at the chefs counter to eat at 7 pm. The service was exceptional, the appetizers (crostini) delicious though bread a little hard (never mind, they served half a sliced French bread for meal, so we transferred the topping). Ahi tuna tacos as a dinner were outstanding. Then there was the 8 oz filet mignon cooked perfectly medium rare and melt in your mouth. The filet was the best ever ($$$). With a great assortment of drinks it was wonderful. The teamwork behind the chefs table was obvious and appreciated.

We have been here a few times and will always come back. Not remembering the holiday weekend they worked to fit us in for a dinner that was early enough for the kids and reassured us to take our time with a packed house and no wait. All of the staff are personal and interacted with us and our children. The atmosphere, while not apparently kid friendly - IS - and the staff makes it so. It is cozy and I love an open kitchen. You can find good food in the area that incorporates local and quality food but you won't find better service. Amazing bar manager with craft cocktails and outstanding food. I truly felt our patronage was appreciated upon leaving and only regret not being able to leave a 30% tip.

My wife and I were looking for a late night restaurant and this place was recommended to us by Siri. We weren’t sure about it because we had never heard of it (and we were skeptical of Siri) We were pleasantly surprised. We started with the Goat Cheese wontons as an appetizer and were blown away. The goat cheese is very subtle and not overpowering. I had the Grilled Organic Salmon with an amazing risotto. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife had a Salad special with salmon, also perfectly cooked. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Before we even finished we said we had to come back here again. I recommend highly.

My wife and I recently visited Crew on a Saturday night for dinner. We heard nice things about this restaurant and while we have been living in the area for a bit, this was our first visit. Unfortunately, Crew did not live up to its reputation and honestly gave my wife and I more to talk about after, rather than a satisfying meal.
First, the sluggish kitchen. I can’t remember the last time I waited so long between appetizers and entrees at a restaurant. We were approaching forty-five minutes between courses. To add, everyone else around us was waiting and you could feel the frustration in the air. Poor one out for the group of elder friends out for someone’s birthday sitting next to us. They had ordered before we even sat down and got their food minutes before us. Their wait easily exceeded an hour.
The slow kitchen was only the first course of things that went astray. For our entrees we ordered the steak frites and filet mignon. Both of these entrees were marked as “market price.” Not a problem. A nice night out. Some steaks were in order and with other entrees ranging between $23-28.00, how much could these cuts of beef be? The good news is that the steak frites rang in at a reasonable $35.00. The filet meanwhile, drum roll please… $60.00. I was shocked when I saw it on the bill. Now, I acknowledge 100% we ordered and should have asked, but I have to ask, what market are they buying this beef from? I am going to have to assume that the food buyer at Crew was swindled and bamboozled by whoever supplies them this beef. Just for reference, on the same night, the same size steak at Keene’s in *Midtown Manhattan* was $51.00. Yes, that steak is ala-carte, but you would be better off without the included sides straight out of the 1990s culinary scene that Crew provided.
So, in short, Crew did not live up to its reputation. As I dwell on this meal, maybe the long wait time and high filet price were supposed to go hand in hand? By giving us 45 minutes to wait, we had plenty of time to pick up a rag and clean some tables! We too could have been part of the CREW, and maybe then, had enough to offset the obscene and offensive price of that cut of beef.

I visited this wonderful restaurant on a Saturday night seeking dinner for two without a reservation and was able to get a table. The service was great, being our first time we didn't know much about what was available and the servers happily gave us time to look over the menus. The atmosphere was a mix of a bar and an upscale restaurant. Music was playing but not too loud which was nice. The steak I ordered was excellent and worth the price, however the chef could have done a better job cutting it. If I'm in the area again, I will certainly be back, but I'll probably try and make a reservation next time so I don't push my luck.

My wife and I had a 7:30 reservation to celebrate a special anniversary. Arrived early, were not seated until. 7:55. House front staff unwelcoming and dismissive. However, waitress was friendly and attentive. Appetizers Salmon Fritters and Chicken Satay excellent. HERE is the problem, we both ordered steaks, she the Black Angus Steak Frites, me the Dry Aged Angus Ribeye. (MP $92). Both were ordered medium rare. Her Steak was served almost bloody rare and mine barely pink medium. Given the reputation of Crew's culinary trained staff, this should not happen. Disappointing!!

A nice menu but rushed harried service by waitress. The restaurant was not even a third full on a weekday-therefore not necessary to rush a party of two.
The dish was good and the menu nice but set your cell phone on alarm for every ten minutes you eat so as to conform to their “ busy” schedule

Passing through on our way north, we were surprised to find this amazing restaurant in a strip shopping center on a busy road.
Food was full of flavor, creative but not crazy, and DELICIOUS.
Wait staff Lauren was helpful and friendly and efficient.
Will definitrly return.

Get seats at the counter to watch a number of trained chefs move with balletic precision to turn out one great dish after another. The food was amazing and creative but allowed the ingredients to show off. Great service. A wonderful dinner and evening.

My husband and I were advised to dine at Crew by staff at our nearby hotel because it is run by graduates of the Culinary Institute of America. Crew is very small and somewhat tricky to find, but it was such a great experience that we went twice while on our autumn road trip through the Hudson River Valley. The first night, we started with a Mimosa flight and especially loved the one flavored with thyme simple syrup. Then our Asian beef and rice was absolutely delicious. A week later, the menu was different but equally wonderful. The atmosphere is surprisingly both elegant and casual, and the service is exceptional without being pretentious. Highly recommend.

The food was amazing and the combination of flavors was incredible. The executive chef (Thomas Kacherski) who opened Crew in 2009 is a 2001 Culinary Institute of America graduate and has been recognized in numerous ways and also has received lots of well deserved awards. Crew also hosts an extern program for the Culinary Institute of America where students can receive training at the restaurant.
Another thing that we loved about Crew Restaurant was their use of items from local farms. They share on their menu that they are devoted to local and fresh menu items from the Hudson Valley. "A farm-to-table philosophy dictates the seasonal menu and daily specials". I would definitely say that this was something that encouraged us to try this restaurant and it was evident in the flavors and quality of food that we ate. Excellent food & well run restaurant. Visiting Poughkeepsie & so wish I had stopped here when I first arrived last week, as I would have been back again. Watching the chef & cooking staff was watching a professional team at work. Efficient & nonstop excellent food being presented.

As a nursing consultant at the end of long day in a new town I was surprised to look up from my cabernet at the bar and see the owner of Crew restaurant giving the Heimlich to a patron at one of the bar seats. I didn't know it was the owner at the time of course, but the bar tender clued me in. I've so enjoyed the amazing food here each week as I travel through, but feel moved to write this review after the amazing action I witnessed and seeing the gratitude of the patron. Amazing evening indeed.

Everything was outstanding, friendly staff, sat at Chef bar and enjoyed the professional display, some students from CIA too. The bartender Amber and assistant Amber were fabulous, the volume of complex cocktails made me tired watching them, I also enjoyed one of their fabulous Manhattan’s!
My waitress Lauren was wonderful, knew the menu, provided great recommendations that were all terrific. She was knowledgeable, kind and on-top of everything.
The teamwork by everyone made this a very enjoyable evening. As a Buffalo Bills fan, Josh Allen describes teamwork as, “the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient” when describing our local children’s hospital, saw that same effort here tonight, well done all at Crews.

Really excellent cuisine, service, and attitude! Shout out to Brianna and The Chef. It was so good we went two nights in a row! We highly recommend the grilled Salmon, and Peanut stir fry: a bottle of organic Goru Verde Monastrey is highly recommended. We will be back!
