A little off the beaten path, this small restaurant has exceptional food and top service, including both seafood and land dishes. We were directed to it by another restauranteur who was closing early b/c of Covid-related low patronage, and would have never found it otherwise. Definitely planning to return..

Excellent Thai Chicken Wrap

After a scenic walk in Poughkeepsie, I decided to pop into this sandwich bar/cafe. It is a little spartan-looking, but quirky. Admittedly, I had read raving reviews in the local press and social media. I ordered the Thai Chicken Wrap, which consisted of chicken breast, Asian slaw, spicy peanut sauce and Romaine lettuce (Priced at $10.95 before tip). Totally excellent. It was freshly made, crisp, salty, sweet with all the necessary Asian flavors. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a cheap lunch, this is the place. Best wrap ever!

Great staff, great food

Staff were cleaning thoroughly as we entered and were wearing masks. Excellent. My wife ordered the chicken bruschetta panini. My son had the tomato mozzarella panini, and I had the Autumn chicken wrap. All of the food, including the sides, was fantastic and the portion size was good for the amount paid. Unfortunately we are not from this area. If we were, this would become our regular spot for lunch. Bravo! Took food out so cannot comment on dining in.

Wonderful food in a quaint setting

We’re in town for a campus visit and wanted to try something local and unique for lunch. Lola’s definitely fit the description. My fish and chips was delicious and my daughter’s Red Fox wrap was almost too much for her to finish at one sitting. Definitely another one of those places that will become a regular place to visit if my daughter ends up going to school here.

Walkway Over the Hudson is steps away.

For those familiar with Lola's in New Paltz, the food here is also very good with many delicious choices. The setting is much different. The Poughkeepsie Cafe is right by the Walkway over the Hudson. One has to climb a flight of stairs to access the Walkway from the street. Inside is also different, but one still goes up to the counter to order, then it is delivered to the table. Seating is limited in that there is no outside eating area like in New Paltz. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly and efficient.

One of the true Hudson Valley "hole in the wall" restaurant experiences. You wouldn't think much of the place from the outside, but the reputation of this place is well deserved. Great choices of bowls, wraps, sandwiches and salads with great side dishes make this place a lunch destination extraordinaire.

Great lunch!

We were visiting the area on vacation and this was our best meal. Our lunch was fresh and so tasty. The staff was incredibly friendly and even with the mid-week lunch rush, they handled everything without seeming stressed. True professionals. Would recommend 10/10

A beautiful Fall Day to Enjoy Lunch at Lola’s & Stroll Over the Poughkeepsie Walking Bridge

I’ve been to many restaurants and this eatery is by far the best. The selections on the menu are unique and healthy. lola’s staff is very friendly and I felt at home on my first visit to this outstanding eatery. This is the best place to begin a meander across the Poughkeepsie Walking Bridge.

Fresh and tasty for lunch

Great local venue, adjacent to the Walkway Over the Hudson. It was busy when we arrived and the order taker suggested we claim the last seats, then come back to the counter to order. Southwestern salad with chicken was excellent, loved the dressing. High quality, fresh food with pleasant service. Great option for lunch.

Great Short Rib Grilled Cheese

Nice stop under the Walkway Over The Hudson. We grabbed four sandwiches to go and found a bench in the park a block away. I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. It was excellent. Like other people have written, the peanut noodles were very good, too.

Welcome to Poughkeepsie!

This one is a keeper. My wife had one of her favorites, Chicken Caesar Salad, and this was right up there with the best. I had the Red Fox Wrap. Perfect! Crispy chicken and bacon, tasty cheddar and BBQ sauce. The menu was full of attractive items. If I lived closer, this would be a go-to place!

Great Lunch

Great neighborhood find, loaded potato soup was very good, good French fries and a great menu selection. Everyone in our group of 4 enjoyed their lunch. Self seating (grab your table fast), you order at the counter, but it’s not clear to do so. Very busy. Definitely recommend

A great find!

We don’t know Poughkeepsie very well and had some errands to run. I looked for a place for lunch and the menu looked interesting. The place is clean and cute, it was nothing fancy. There was one ther table of people. We ordered at the counter and turned around, totally full and people waiting. I know why! My California salad was was so fresh and delicious. Drew’s hot chicken sandwich was amazing! The sesame noodles are terrific but a touch sweet. I want to try so much more! Loved it!

Delicious food right by the walkway over the Hudson. Excellent salads, sandwiches and variety. Perfect after a visit to Marist or for those in school. Fresh bakery items looked great.
