I have dined at this restaurant many times but have not reviewed Lakeview in several years. Happily, I can report that the food is still very good. I ordered the stuffed sole with rice and salad. The fish was flaky, moist, and fresh.
The service would have been rated excellent except for one problem. Most restaurants have free refills on iced tea and if the refills are not free, there is a disclaimer on the menu, or there is some notice that the refills are not free. I ordered one iced tea and two additional refills, mostly of ice, without the server notifying me that the refills were not free. I was surprised to see, on the bill, that I was charged for the three iced tea, of mostly ice.

We have been going to the Lakeview house for years. We recomend it regularly to people visiting. The service is always excellent, the food delicious and the view is beautiful. However, what more than anything else makes me love Lakeview is that during covid lockdown they stayed open and continued to serve the community. They adapted their restaurant so that we could continue to celebrate our special occasions while at home. They adapted their menus so that takeout was easy, convenient and safe. My husband and I are both essencial workers by them staying open and continuing to offer excellent food they played a huge role in allowing us to relax a enjoy after a long day of often stressful work. We are so thankful that they were there for us and we will always be grateful.

This was a great experience and I chose it because of the reviews on here. Thanks to all if you we enjoyed an amazing meal. The lobster crab cakes were great and the Salmon Rangoon appetizer sublime. Short Ribs were so tender and the Halibut special was delicious. Peanut Butter Mousse dessert was amazing. Everything was super fresh! This was seriously one of the best meals I’ve had in ages!
The building is really cute and the outdoor patio is a Great Lake view. The service was very slow between courses but we were not in a rush so it was relaxing. Server was really lovely.
Go visit. You will not be sorry.

The Lakeview House is adjacent Orange Lake. Lovely views from both indoor and outdoor dining. We enjoyed lunch on a nice afternoon. We had a reservation at noon, as the restaurant was opening. We were the first diners to be seated, at least outside. Waiter was very knowledgeable and plenty friendly, but he surprised us when he brought my beverage to my wife - we were a party of two and it was the only food or beverage he'd brought out so it seemed like he would have remembered who ordered the beverage. That was really quite minor - just surprising. Our food came out promptly and was delicious. My wife wanted to lick the from her plate the excess Asian sauce over the short ribs - it was that good. My shrimp tacos were stuffed full. Prices were acceptable. We definitely plan to dine here again.

Good food and a pleasant atmosphere in a small restaurant. The food was good but nothing wow. Everything was pleasant and our while party enjoyed what they ordered, no one was chomping at the bit to return.Staff were nice but not overly attentive. For example our bread was burnt but they gave it to us anyway, no cutlery was given when they brought desert or soup. We had to ask for everything we needed. No forethought by anyone. Overall it was a nice dinner but we will try others before we return here.

Wonderful food and outdoor dining. You will need a reservation. All employees wore a mask. But one waitress refused to wear it instead wore it over her chin. I thought when she came to take order she would put it down. But no. No one eating at a table wants to start trouble and get in a confrontation with a server. It was extremely uncomfortable and I can’t imagine every diner didnt feel the same. It is the law. Hopefully someone at the restaurant sees this and will ask the waitress to put the mask down for the safety of the patrons

Mostly a wonderful experience. Take the time to walk out back for a few pictures with the gorgeous lake background. There is outdoor seating and indoor setting is nicely decorated with a view of the lake. The staff is wonderful and without being overly attentive so you can enjoy your dining experience. Desserts are delicious, large portion and well priced. Note: the website menu pricing is out of date. Be sure to check your bill to see that it matches the current menu prices that you ordered off of.

Amazing venue with delicious food, wonderful staff and incredible ambiance! My husband and I hosted our wedding at the Lakeview House and had the most incredible event we could have ever hoped for.
Tori and her team at the Lakeview House went out of their way to make the wedding extra special, working with us through all the wedding details and setting up an absolutely beautiful space. Tori also ensured that everything ran smoothly, from the ceremony on the patio, to the cocktail hour, to the delicious lunch, to the cake cutting.
The food was outstanding. Many of our guests told us that the hor'dourves were the best they ever had! The lunch itself was also fantastic, with a ton of choices from shrimp to fish to steak, all of which proved delicious. Tori also set up the most incredible dessert table for us, with a ton of amazing desserts, along with coffee and tea.
We had an amazing wedding and highly recommend Lakeview House to everyone!!!

We have been attending an annual Christmas party held at The Lakeview house for at least the last 5 years. The offerings have always been buffet style. At other places that would cause me to lower my expectations, no need to do that here. The food has always been good, and I’m sure the food off the menu would be good as well.

26 Years ago we lived on Lakeside Road, we got married at Our Lady of the Lake, and we celebrated with a whole slew of family and friends at the Lakeview House. It was amazing, it was lovely, and we were treated so special. Not much has changed. We are still on Lakeside, we still go to Our Lady of the Lake, we always go on our anniversary, (something that you just cannot do a a big box venue), we are still treated like we were the most important visitors ever, and most importantly we are still married. Now I don't know if the Lakeview had anything to do with that, but the food is still great and the place is still fun. Try it!

We called 2 days in advance for a reservation. Initially they did not have the time frame we were looking for but then we were called back stating they had a cancellation. As it was our anniversary, we requested a table with a view of the lake if possible. A couple coming in ahead of us with no reservation were seated in the back room with a view of the lake. We were seated directly in front of an air conditioning unit & in front of the serving station. Having to listen to noisy squeaky metal drawers repeatedly being opened & slammed shut throughout our meal was not what you would expect when dining in a restaurant of this price range. Honestly wish we had gone elsewhere - we won't be going back!

We love eating here when we travel to Newburgh. Up-scale/casual is the way to describe it. Jeans and shorts acceptable as it is frequented by people who live right on the lake as well as people who don't, but love to look at it. Food is SO good -- my favorite is when they have Ahi tuna salad wraps, but it's all good. Wait staff is friendly and atmosphere is uplifting.

We were longtime patrons of the Lakeview House! Having moved to Myrtle Beach SC, this was our first visit in over 3 years. Everything was just as it was, delicious food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Tori greeted us like it was yesterday. Thank you for a wonderful evening and a special thank you to our server, Connor! Hopefully we will be back sooner than 3 years!

We had a 6:00 reservation and were seated right on time. The restaurant was packed and everyone seem to be enjoying their meals. Our waitress was Rachel. She was AWESOME ! She was able to talk to the chef and got my husband exactly what he wanted which turned out excellent ! We have been going to this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed.

Dinner with customers (table of 11). Bummed that we couldn’t see the lake because it was dark but still enjoyed the quaint dining area surrounded by big windows. Service was fantastic! Everything we had from appetizers to salads to main meals were superb. Steaks were better than some of the fancy chain restaurants. I had a pasta and scallop special (and I’m from Jersey) that was amazing!
I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.
