The hotel itself has a lot of history and it was quite fascinating walking around and looking at the various photographs. However, I thought the food was very average and I'm not sure I'd eat there again. I had the chicken snizchel supreme which was extremely dry, lacked crispness, and was far too cheesy. The sides were tasty, although not very warm. The prices were a little bit steep for the quality of the food. My partner had the eisbein which also tasted quite dry.

Seems to be highly recommended in this town. Stepped in for dinner and no matter which dish I pinched the waiter said it was not available m. Tried two different types of salad. Tasted ok. Service takes time so be prepared.

Seeing Eisbein on the menu, I felt compelled to try it. Unfortunately, it tasted dreadful (almost like an ashtray smells) and came accompanied by a heap of french fries. A peculiar combination and certainly not reminiscent of Germany. My wife's Beef Schnitzel was an indeterminate size but tasted decent. While dining in this German-like restaurant, a radio program featuring American headbanger music played in the background. Not exactly what you'd find in the heart of Germany. The prelude to dinner was perplexing. The waiter handed us a printed menu, and learning from past experiences, we inquired if everything on the menu was available. "Yes, of course," he said, looking at us with bewilderment. Among our orders were mashed potatoes for the Schnitzel and a German salad. After some time, the waiter returned: No German salad, but would we like a Greek salad? No, thank you. Then another 5 minutes passed: No mashed potatoes, but would we like french fries? Alright then. Another 5 minutes: How would we like the Schnitzels cooked? And so on. The bill came to NAD520. We placed three NAD200 bills on the table, and after a considerable wait, the waiter brought us a NAD20 bill and a heavy bag of NAD60 in small coins!?! This is hardly what one should subject their guests to... Our best advice: Find another restaurant in town.

Disappointed. The waiter brought us the wrong drinks. The food was bad. We 4 had different meals. The vegetables looked only smashed and old. I could not cut the chicken schnitzel. It Was Hard and dry. The Bratwurst seemed it was frozen a long time. The chicken wings are even better at KFC. Would not recommend it. Too expensive for this food.

Was recommended to try the restaurant as it catered for vegan/vegetarian diners. Despite the waitresses best efforts ordering to the kitchen my mushroom vegetable pasta came out with a creamy sauce.seco d try it looked and tasted as though a can of diced Veges had been heated with a can of sliced mushrooms. Edible but an expensive way to get camping food. The soup of the day Tomato was I think also the can of the day. Very disappointing especially when the meat dishes look so well made with a wide range of fresh vegetables roasted or otherwise prepared alongside.

The food is good, the drinks are good - what more do you want? The menu has a number of traditional german item on, mixed with local specialities. Hugh portions! Good wine list as well.

Good value for money whole some home coocking in the German tradition. The dininghall can be upgraded to get rid of that school hostel feeling

Delicious food. We did not stay here, but the food was really good, and I would reccomend anyone to stop here if they are travelling through. Service was great and friendly. Large portions, and as a chef I could tell that the ingredients were fresh.

We had a very nice dinner here served by efficient staff. Being a weeknight there appeared to be salesmen staying in the guesthouse, although we were in a B&B elsewhere.
