Recently visited for the third summer, this restaurant to find major changes on menu selection not for the liking by all 3 of us. They have modified number of entrees to be more gourmet. Their past menu offered more desirable dishes. No more lobster dinner...either. Chicken livers ????? We were told new chef. Understand prices had to increase a bit due to covid, but charging $4 for a small piece of bread is not acceptable. The corn on the cob was delicious and only $3. As of now, this restaurant is eliminated from our “Go to” restaurants. PS…..nice atmosphere, and very clean!More

We came for dinner and were seated quickly in the back of the main area which was comfortable. Service was polite and helpful but a bit slow due to understaffing. Food was okay but expected more.

We came here for dinner this past weekend and had great food and cocktails. Being in such a secluded location, there are not many dining options available. We were pleasantly surprised to walk in and be seated at the bar. Food and atmosphere had a...very 'farm to table' feel and everything we ate was very fresh. Recommend the watermelon marg and prosciutto/ricotta appetizer! Believe this restaurant was previously closed due to Covid and is now under new ownership.More

We're so glad you were able to dine with us - thank you so much for coming in! Our menu is indeed 'farm-to-table' as our new chef, David Kornell, has built our new items around the amazing local product that come from our neighboring farms....More

We came here for dinner one night. We had heard good things abut the tavern. we made a reservation and we were seated right away. The service was very slow. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer and it was excellent. We all ordered different...things for dinner --fish tacos, burger, fish and chips, salad. We all felt the food was just ok and lacked something to make it tasty. There were many flies in the restaurant and it was very annoying and a turn off. There are many other places in the area. Not sure we would returnMore

We were staying in Bethel, and our B&B told us about Tavern on Main, and the place was the perfect neighborhood bar/restaurant. We were waiting for a table at the bar, but Patrick (the bartender) was so awesome, that we decided to eat dinner at...the bar. He helped us choose the perfect dinner choices, as well as tips on other local spots to visit. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Wish we had a place like this near my home!!More

We been here several times before and the food is always good. Unfortunately this time, we were constantly chasing the flies away....and we were not sitting outside. Something needs to be done to prevent the flies from coming in whenever the door to the outside...seating is opened.More

I should start by saying it was a busy night and that might have been part of the problem. I notice the previous reviewer said the same thing so maybe it isn't as understandable. We showed up on a Saturday about 6 or so. They...were running a German special so we expected a possibility of an issue. We were asked if we had a reservation. We said no but they said they could seat us in the bar or patio deck. I suggested the bar (my mistake) because it was quieter then and the deck was loud with people eating and the people from the German thing down on the ground level. Eventually the bar part filled up and we had to pretty much yell to hear each other. We were seated and then left alone for what felt like about 20 minutes. It was ok, we were catching up but it did start to get frustrating. Eventually they apologized and a few minutes later a waitress came to take our order. My wife and I both got sodas, they have a few very unusual one including a blueberry soda. My mom asked for a simple cocktail, don't remember what it was but she waited a long time for it. My mom caught the shrimp appetizer, I got the corn chowder and my wife got nothing. They brought us rolls, nothing special but ok. We waited a very long time for the appetizers to show up. They eventually brought out 2 soups, realized we were only suppose to get one. Gave me my soup and then another tray showed up with another soup and shrimp. Gave us the shrimp and left with soup. The shrimp was very good, corn chowder was ok. Again waited a while and eventually the food showed up. My mother had the scallop BLTs (said they were very good). I had the build your own burger with mushrooms, onions, cheese. I asked for it to be medium, it came out well done. Not an issue since I usually like them well done. My wife got the fish and chips, lots of fish and chips. Fish came with skin which isn't what she was expecting. Altogether we were there over 2 hours and not really by our choice. Not something you want to do if you are having other plans.More

We had a nice weekend in the Catskills and really enjoyed our stay in jeffersonville. We went to tavern on a busy Saturday night so maybe that’s why the service was very slow. The food was just ok. I had a Cobb salad which was...supposed to have blacked chicken. It had no blacked flavor. My sons burger was over cooked and not served hot and fresh. We also had over cooked French cut chicken which was a very small portion. The trout didn’t have much flavor. On the positive side it was very reasonable and a pretty place and they seated us right away. Maybe it will be better on a less crowded nightMore
