This restaurant is located in the luxury Sun 'n Sand Resort and the staff generally act like they are doing you a favor to wait on you instead of recognizing that their customers are their lifeblood. Prices high for what you get and the poor service.

We had good breakfasts and dinners here while traveling thru country. They serve buffet style and we had a large groups.

Lovely Setting

The place is beautiful. We were however a large group of more than 300 and I felt they were understaffed to deal with such a large crowd. There were two serving points for a buffet style dinner and service was really slow. The serving points themselves where not well thought out as the people getting their food tended to block the light and hence could not see what the various dishes were. The food, when you eventually got it, was good and well prepared. Loved their crumbed fish!

Not only was the restaurants food undercooked it was also too salty. The surroundings and service was quite poor. The tables lacked salt/blackpepper and various sauces. The waiters are kind and it has a good vibe to it. But the food needs to be worked on.

Offers quite a variety of salads to choose from!

One thing I do remember about Sun 'n Sand is their salad valley. They offered quite a wide variety of salads and I was impressed. The stuff, seemed to be the standard offerings in Mangochi - beef, fish and chicken. They do not serve pork in Mangochi.

Terrible food and service Management needs to address this quickly Very bad Get qualified staff as well As sandwhiches took over 1 hour and change took them 20 minutes lowest standard of all time

We had conference food which at times ran out. Chambo is delicious. I have had much better meals elsewhere in Malawi.

Strange place, but good value for money

This place feels a bit like Las Vegas in Malawi. It is very big with camels, donkeys, hundreds of rooms and a kind of 'village square'. Although it is right on the beach, there is no access and I wouldn't go there anyway as it is very dirty there. But the kids absolutely loved the play area with the bouncing castles, jungle land, play ground and not least the fantastic kids swimming pool which I have not seen the like in Malawi. I would go again just to let the kids have fun there for a day. The rooms are extremely big and spotless with perfectly functioning aircon and a flat screen tv. Very good value for money although the place in itself is a bit strange.

I definitely enjoyed the sandwiches during the afternoons and the friendly and attentive restaurant staff. However, if your order fresh meals, then you will wait close to eternity. If you really hungry, stick to the buffet!!

Good Nice Dishes

Sun and Sand Restaurant provides a variety of dishes ranging from Indian and good Steak Dishes. I enjoyed their minute steak which was well priced and prepared to my liking
