We were in a cute store on Main Street and asked about good restaurants in the area. There were 3 other shoppers and the clerk and their first response was The Clipper Inn. 4 people can't be wrong, so we tried it and it is...all they said. Delicious seafood, pastas, great cocktails Would definitely go back...More

We had a wonderful evening after our boat tour. We went to this restaurant and it was amazing. A very friendly atmosphere and delicious dinners. Our server Nicole was accompanied by another server named Samantha. This woman is amazing. She makes you feel so welcome...and knows how to serve. It's all about her guests in her book. She wants you to enjoy your drinks and meal and serves as if this was a five star restaurant. Ask for Sam or Samantha. You will be glad you did. The prime rib dinner was on the special menu and we also had veal parm when we came back the next day.. The food and service was so good we decided not to try any other place.iMore

Took my wife there for her birthday. Made sure to tell them it was a special occasion and requested that something be brought to her (and offered to pay for it). When we checked in they couldn't find out reservation and then told us "we...will have to see if we can find you something". We then pointed our our name on their list (the first one). The hostess never apologized and seemed to imply that we had pronounced our own name wrong. Sat for 40 minutes before anyone came to our table. Two hours in and we still dibnt have out food. The owner came out to talk to guests and went to every table but ours (RUDE). Waitress never came back to take a drink order and food came out wrong. I ordered a fish fillet that came out pulverized. Just a pile of broken fission the plate. When it came time for desert (2.5 hours later) nothing!!!! They never acknowledged my wife's birthday at any time. No apologies for the poor service and staff spent most of their time doting on one group to detriment of everyone else in the room. First time in my life I left a $0 tip. There are a lot better places to eat in the 1000 islands that are a lot less snobby and less expensive. May have been good at one time, but that time has passed. AVOID!!!!!More

Todd, this dinner experience was clearly a nightmare. I'm so sorry about the totally unacceptable time it took for your dinner. I also want to apologize for the lack of a birthday dessert for your wife. Our goal is to get things right and this...More

The Hostest lead us to our table and at 1st it seemed ok. The waitress did come right over with menus and asked about drinks. We both had a glass of wine (cab) that was not the best, not smooth and was very peppery. Then...the fun started. Our table was right on a 1/2 wall with latice and next to the waitstaff station. They set up 3 a frame tray racks and would bring the food for other tables and set it there to service. It was literaly 6" from us and then would clear the tables using the same set up (banging and clanging of dishes 6" from us. As we looked at the menu the waitress did come over and ask if we where ready to order and the 1st time we were not. 2nd time by I did order an appitizer and had not yet decided on dinner, 3rd time by she stated last chance to order which I was not sure if she was just trying to be funny but did not sit well with us as they were not closing, it was 7pm, although we were ready to order so we did, 2 seafood plater dishes. After a while the appitizer finally came and it was potato skins that were like a slice off a potato with bacon bits and cheese, not hollowed out skins with just a little potato as traditional skins are and they were not crispy at all. Like someoone microwaived a potato in a hurry. Then the salad came which was not bad, it was decent. The main corse came and the mashed potatoes where not only cold but where old and warmed in the micro. The broiled seafood had no flavor, butter had no flavor other than to much lemon juice in it. My wife asked to try my butter as she had thought perhaps her taste were off and it was the same. She did not even use the lemon wedge on her plate, butter was very bitter due to far to much lemon in it. As to say she did not eat everything due to that. Also we had 1 small to med size crab leg that we had no way to open . Most restarants give you tools to open them but we did manage to brake them open by hand as the seafood juices ran down my arms and splattered all over. The place was very noisey, choatic , not worth the $150More
