Ordered a pizza tonight with two toppings, got home, picked the pizza up and the cheese as well as toppings slid right off. Also, it wasn't even cut. I figured I'd try pizza for once, since the baked ziti is never served how I order...it. You'd think sauce would come with the meal, but even if you ask for it and stress extra sauce, you barely get any. It is very disappointing that II Castello's is the only Italian restaurant in the region. My review of service, is based on the take out system because I only order food to go. They need a number system, rather than just asking a room full of people crowded in front of the dining room and bathrooms for the last four digits of their phone number. So my review of the service is based on the take-out system.More
the food and pizza here is great, but I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The staff is nasty, short and seems bothered that you're there. If you're sitting at a table, expect to remind the staff that you need to order, that you...did order, what your order was and that you will need to pay for whatever it is you ordered.More
We visit II Castello's about twice a month. My favorite is their calzones!! A medium size is enough for two meals for me! They have a nice salad bar (always fresh) and with a bowl of their homemade soup - it is a great lunch....Their pizza is excellent, with so many varieties to choose from. A busy place everytime we visit. The staff is very helpful and friendly. A great place to go!More
While touring the Poconos in PA last weekend, my wife and I discovered a wonderful Italian Family Restaurant on the PA/NY border in Barryville, NY. Not only is the food great and the menu very extensive, but the owners (Peter and Kelly...there are also many...other family members working at the restaurant) couldn't have been nicer and went out of their way to make us feel like we were part of their family. The restaurant isn't much from the outside but once you get seated you will very much enjoy your dining experience. This is real Italian cooking from real Italian folks.More
Took 20 mins to get an order and another 30 mins to get two fried entrees! The French onion was watered down and nasty and the tomato soup burned my lips from the acid. Manager was nasty. We told them were not paying and left!
I first had linguni with white clam sauce was mostly garlic no clams , then had calamari that was cold and tough, I have eaten there plenty of times and they are very rude not even to try to compensate u for no clams or...hold your food when u left it there untouched to go , all they could say, Pete said what do you want me to do, it was my problem, and to top it off I watched him make a pizza answer the phone and take cash all at the same time with no gloves, Pete is the owner also rude and nasty , also my aunt and her friend has received green molded pizza a few times, I think I have had enough of this place, this is very true story, bye ,bye ill Castellos, I will be sure to tell everyone not to go there againMore
My fiance and I go there often just over the bridge from pa. We went on a few first couple of dates there and loved the food all the time. They have a wide variety and most of the time will take custom pizza orders...too. We requested a chicken Alfredo pizza and it was awesome! I also like their chicken ceaser salad pizza and garlic knots. I always enjoy their food! It does get packed Friday through Sundays especially in the summer b/c it is one of the only good restaurants around! :-)More
