This was our first overnight stay since lockdown, so it was an absolute treat to travel and explore the beautiful area of Clanwilliam especially during the flower season. The staff and owners were very friendly, helpful and conscious of all the precautions required for social distancing which made us feel very safe. We stayed in the historic building, which is one of 3 separated buildings all set in beautiful gardens with swimming pools. The room was comfortable and clean. breakfast was very good and all the recommendations were excellent. There is a great atmosphere and eclectic feel to the house and garden It is well situate in the town but quiet . I would highly recommend this Guest house

There is a well established garden, with lots of trinkets and statues and shaded seating. Good milkshake but simply ok sandwiches. Service was inattentive. Once the order was delivered we were forgotten about...there was one single other customer so not overworked.

The food was slightly pricey, but the experience made up for it! This is a beautiful place located right opposite the "ou tronk" museum. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment, from the friendly staff to the creative and beautiful atmosphere

Thank you for your review - to tell the truth I am quite confused with your description of "just normal Rooibos Tea" which you can buy at Pick n Pay? I would be interested to know how you drew your comparison - I am glad you enjoyed your surroundings - our gardens are quite exceptional so we have been told by many a landscaper and garden lover. I do invite you for a reply - my email address is info@yellowaloe.co.za - we always try our best to improve where we can. Kind regards Cheryl

We were on our way to the museum and decided to pop in to the Yellow Aloe - we stumbled upon a peaceful oasis/a secret, enchanted garden and had a delicious coffee and apple crumble and then discovered they also have accommodation - which we peeped in to - next time that is where we will stay for sure!

Nice place and the garden was a delight. Food little overpriced for the portions also the service was a tad slow One thing is that we asked for overcooked eggs and it was done as requested

Nestled in the most beautiful gardens perfect for a high tea this guest house just oozes happiness :) birds making nests in the tree, a lapa by the pool for late afternoon gin and tonics and of course a delicious breakfast in the morning. Lovely comfy rooms, nice and warm in winter. Will definitely stay there again.

We often went there in the past and enjoyed it. This time, however, we cannot recommend it. Although it is a beautiful place, the breakfast is very expensive for what you get. Omelette comprised of a thin layer of egg with a few slices of mushroom inside. (Mushrooms were very tasty.) Nothing extra. R85. Service was also not good, apparently as there were people at 4 tables who arrived simultaneously. Quite a disappointment.

After a telephonic booking and paying 100% upfront, we arrived to find the accommodation did not quite suite our mix of travelers as expected. The final straw was the aggressive attitude of the owner that we were the problem. No effort to resolve or offer alternate plans. We left without our money or accommodation. Nothing like what their website claims..

We visited for lunch, after waiting more than 45 minutes we still couldn’t even get someone to take our order, despite asking several times. They’re completely understaffed, it appeared that there was only 1 person trying to run the shop, be the waiter and make the drinks. Very unacceptable for peak tourist period 30th December.
