A much more approachable and modern version of the former Spaghettini. There is an emphasis on the use of the freshest local seafood, on a menu that adheres to the traditional breakdown of an Italian menu, from antipasti to dolce. The Local Seabass Picatta is...a hit, and amongst the "Primi" dishes The Green Pea risotto with local smoked Mackerel and the Ziti Pasta "Genovese" (a slow cooked Beef ragu) are well worth the visit. Dolce just wouldn`t be Italian without a version of Tiramisu. Here this is an orange coffee version, that is topped with a lght Italian meringue "Cappuccino"served with Pistachio Biscotti.More

Really enjoyed our 3-course dinner here. We had arancini and seafood bisque for appetizers, risotto and steak for our mains, and desserts. We enjoyed every dish and the service was attentive and pleasant. We would definitely come back again!

Staff very friendly and great service. Lovely views as the restaurant was relocated in the Atrium, so views to beach, sunset and swimming pools. Unfortunatelly the food was below average. Presentation looks good but taste was not great. Had a "favourite" strawberry drink and it...was more like milk with strawberry juice, pizzas had far too much cheese and the cheese lacked any flavour... chocolate ganache is more like a chocolate block; the tiramissu though, was amazing. 50 Brunei dollars for 3 course menu, I found it overpriced for what we ate.More

Understated elegance sets the scene which is further exemplified by friendly and courteous waitrons who have perfected the art of attentive and unobtrusive service. The ambience, while pleasant, lacked the warmth and convivial glow associated with Italian eateries - a little candlelight goes a long...way! The starters, mains and desserts were beautifully presented, although a little lacking in flavour and the portions were surprisingly small given the hefty price tag. Nevertheless, the relaxed atmosphere and the superb service made for a lovely evening.More

Haf to write a second review because in the last few weeks before I left the hotel this restaurant transformed. It had bee na regular haunt where you could pick-up a set-menu for 22$BND (something like soup/salad, followed by pasta or pizza and the nice-cream...or fruit salad). Well all of that's gone, though the ystill have a pizza oven. It's 2 or 3-courses from a fairly compact menu for 40 or 50$BND respectively. Startes includes scallops (excellently cooked), prawns, etc. The mains included a rack of lamb and a steak sous vide - with great attn to detailsing and saucing. Deserts didnt disappoint either. The hazelnut mouse with coffee jelly, star anise meringue, etc... was my favourite, but the super-sized creme brulee with sweet basil elso went down well. I went twice to the new format with different groups and both groups loved it.More

I've probably eaten my way through most of the menu in the 3 months that I lived out of the Empire Hotel. I guess there's not many people holed-up here for that length of time, but if you are then the 3 course set menu...is probably the best value food option in the hotel. $22 gets you a choice of soups or salads, pizza or pasta and ice-cream or fruit salad. It became the go to choice for most of the team staying here. The hotel bills this as their "A la carte Mediterranean" restaurant though and the a la carte menu offers a much wider choice- the stuffed chicken and steaks were popular, there are a buch of attractive deserts - with the melting chocolate pud the top choice. Starters generally small and pricey, but some of the sides (like the Arincini) can be good. Service is generally very good (especially if they know you are in a hurry) - they offer magazines to read, etc. On occassions it was slow thoughMore

Beautiful restaurant ambience, great service, and delicious food. Overall a great experience. We were staying at the Empire so though we should try this restuarant out. The service was great, was not very busy. Nice atmosphere. We both had the set meal. I had mushroom...soup, my wife tomato to start. For the main course I had the calzone, it was delicious and huge! My wife had gluten free penne in a cream sauce, she enjoyed it. We both had an ice cream for dessert. they were very good about explaining which menu items could be gluten free for my wife. It was very helpful. Recommend to dine even if not staying at the Empire. Was not as expensive as I would have expected for being in such a high end hotel. I found the price to be reasonable for the quality of what we received.More

total surprise to discover fine dining at Spaghettini. Choice of a la carte or package dinner. Menu selection offers great choice, not just pasta. Service impeccable with staff very attuned to dining comfort. Wonderful small touches with offers of reading material and sound advice. All...at very reasonable cost.More

We ordered from the set menu: Caesar salad, mushroom soup, pasta arrabbiata, pappardelle, and two different ice creams for dessert. We supplemented the meal with a side order of Caprese ensalata and garlic cheese bread. Maricon, our waitress was a professional attentive to our needs....When the entrees were brought out, we reminded her that there is bread to be served. She told us it’s coming out. We slowed down eating waiting for the bread and asked the hostess about the bread too. After 20 minutes, we called the manager and asked where the bread was and each time was told a few minutes. I finally three down by utensils and told to cancel the bread and give us the check. Instead, they brought out two orders of chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream to apologize. Our mango and coconut ice cream came out after the desserts that we didn’t order. Everyone was very apologetic but at the point where I had finished the entree and was told the bread is still coming out in a few minutes meant that they don’t get it. Enclosed is picture of two pasta dishes almost eaten and still no bread....More

Excellent Mediterranean food and good value for money. The service was first class although there was nobody else for the staff to service. Really good comments from all my family.
