This lovely restaurant is situated in the valley with lovely views. Seating is in the middle of guava trees. The service and food is the best we have had. They are so accommodating and will help with any dietary requirements Even the owner and staff...are so friendly and will do anything to help. Highly recommended.More
Fantastic kids area, both indoor and outdoor. Tables under the guava trees and a fireplace inside the restaurant. Food was good, relaxed atmosphere in a gorgeous location.
In March 2021 I visited the Stone Kitchen at Dunstone for a kids' birthday party and as I hadn't been at Dunstone for quite a while I did not know what to expect. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The estate is beautiful, they...have a large restaurant with inside and outside seating areas. The outside seating is scattered around under the trees, and there is also a big playground for the kids, as well as a indoors play area, making this a perfect place for families to go on sunny or rainy days. So I could see why our friends chose Dunstone for their sons birthday - it's a great option for kids, and as all the parents joined were also there, our friends ordered some cheese and meat platters. The staff however did seem to be a bit overwhelmed - we were a large group, though not that big to cause confusion, but we still enjoyed ourselves. I also ended up doing a wine tasting - I am not sure if it is normal practice there, but I was just handed my wines with no explanation from the waiter (notes on the wines were provided) which I did not like. If you are looking for a place to do a wine tasting, eat something and have your children entertained, this is a good option.More
This restaurant is great for families. They have an indoor and outdoor area for the kids to play and some gardens to explore. They have some nice indoor and outside seating as well. Its a very chilled environment if you don't mind kids running around....The food is good, not great but with the kids entertained it beats Spur hands down. Lovely little restaurant.More
We were very well received. Service was efficient and quick and we had a lovely brunch and our waitress was superb.
We spent the weekend at Africamps Doolhof and this was an excellent restaurant for lunch and some drinks. The service was excellent and lots of play areas for the kids. I would definitely go back when I'm in that area again.
Had a good wine tasting here during our stay at Doolhof tented camps. Good location with very friendly staff!
My husband and I were able to enjoy a leisurely wine tasting, then the family had appetizers and mains while our child was busy and happy playing in the play areas. TWO play areas (one indoors and one outdoors) guarantee a relaxed and enjoyable family...experience. The food was delicious, with hubby highly recommending the ribs, and LOTS of delicious vegetarian options for myself. Could not ask for a better family evening out in the winelands.More
A group of about 40 persons visited for a tasting and lunch, The presenter was well informed. The food was well prepared for all and the bobotie made of lamb, in a more traditional fashion and very tasty. The mussels were well prepared in a...very tasty sauce, and the chicken curry mildly spiced and tasty. The venue is a short distance from Wellington down a good dirt road and it is well worth the scenic trip and in fact going a further couple of k's for the scenery. Surprisingly well equipped for children .Both inside and outside eating areas.More
