The restaurant is small and charming that uses locally sourced quality produce. The menu is limited. I had chicken - it was simple and delicious.

An outstanding meal at a restaurant that deserves to be more popular. The food is excellent and good value, and nicely presented. I’d happily recumbent recommend it. It’s hard to discount dishes as the menu changes often, but if they still have the chocolate tart,...go for it (if you like dark chocolate).More
The venue ,service and ambiance as per my expectations and excellent . We had a selection of staters that covered the full array on the menu and without exception it was top class and a culinary delight . The mains :2 of the 3 steaks...were overdone and close to well done . The Seared breast of Free range DUCK , was tough and tasteless . The desserts were excellent especially the Amarula Creme Brulee which was light and delicate .More
Great spot but steak was over cooked. Pork belly had no crackling and much too spicy. Portions are small and for a R250 main dish, no veggies added. Disappointing experience. Stay away if you are hungry. Wines are also overpriced
Recommended by local hotel and had a most enjoyable dinner in a pleasant setting. Food was excellent with good choices available for food and wine. Service was good although lacking any real warmth.
Nice to try food that is well presented. A lovely restaurant. I had the Kudu & Parmesan Cheese Pork Belly Amarulla Creme Brule
Booked this restaurant whilst on an overnight stay in Swellendam, everything about the meal was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.
Really nice food with a small but adequate menu. We were seated in a small cosy room. The service was excellent & the portions were adequate. The prices were excellent, including the wines.
Fancy and lovely and a must to do here. We had dinner and ate fish and beef and can totally recommend a stay there. The service is excellent and you will never forget the great taste of the food.
We were booked by our hotel for a Sunday evening when very few restaurants were open and had an excellent meal. Would thoroughly recommend.
During our stay in Swellendam in December we had dinner one evening at Field & Fork. Delicious food and wines, and first class service in a historical setting. The heritage building is part of the town museum, so it is a privilige to visit it....After the dinner, the staff arranged coffee avec for us outside on the stoep with a small lantern that lit up in the loadshedded darkness. Very romantic and recommendable👌More
We had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant. Really excellent local food on a top level. A nice selection of wines, attentive service An absolute recommendation!
Half good half bad. Nice setting, poor food and service. The pork was very good and the beef filet that should have been medium rare was dead as a shoe sole. The service person was inattentive and uninterested. Doesn't live up to the high standards...we have found in other South African restaurants we have visited.More
This is an exceptional restaurant with wonderful efficient friendly service. We booked because as others have stated, it can be difficult to find a restaurant in Swellendam on a Sunday. This was a joy for us ! The food- both Kudo carpaccio- and the duck...and sea trout respectively, were excellent. The service was outstanding as I have previously stated. Excellent and good value Tempranillo. Piece de La resistance were the desserts. Crème Brûlée and coconut panna cotta. Wonderful! 1380 rand for the whole meal including service. Met the sweet chef at the end, a lovely modest person. 5 star- what’s not to like?!More
Very quiet restaurant without a hint of music so our kids banter was probably heard throughout. I am grateful though that the restaurant accepts kids as so many others in town snub their nose to these younger patrons. Food was good. Very tasty lamb. We...ordered the 3 course menu. Wine list is a little limited. Unfortunately our waitress seemed to be sick at the time and so her constant coughing over everything was a little worrying (I’m home sick writing this now!) But the family enjoyed eating in a historical home and I would recommend trying it for yourself.More
