I visited with a friend a few days before New Year. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. To start with I ordered smoked salmon and my companion venison carpaccio. Portions were small but of course those are pricey items. For the main course I ordered...trout with warm nicoise salad. Very well executed except there was probably too much of an abundance of potatoes and not enough of the other vegetables, My companion ordered the lamb rib chops which were excellent in all respects, tender, juicy and full of flavour. Definitely a venue to visit in Swellendam.More

Our second visit to F&F. The wine list is concise but a bottle of red, white and Rosè from a neighbouring wine estate are offered. The menu comes with 3 options; 1,2 or 3 courses to opt from. The value is fantastic and service professional...but endearing. Paulette was opinionated and well versed about the area, wines and what the chef would have us eat. We trusted her judgement when choosing each course and she couldn’t be faulted. Food is pleasantly presented but not “fussy” classic combinations are used for the courses. Think Salmon Nicoise and Duck with Pomme Purée. A recommended spot for any visitor. (Bill came to R891 including 10% gratuity) a steal for two people.More

Arrived late one night after a long drive. The kitchen was actually closed. They opened it up again, and served a generous and tasty meal. Definitely going back.

We ate in our hotel the first evening in Swellendam but decided to try a local restaurant the second night. Our hotel booked the table for us. We found a very friendly knowledgeable waitress in a small cosy restaurant (no outside views). Everything was fresh...and beautifully served. There is no menu online so I think it changes with availability. Good wine choices too. Definitely worth a visit.More

A charming restaurant in the Drotsky Museum complex. The ingredients were local but the style was French. A delicious meal for half the price we would have to pay in Europe.

Recommended by our guest house (A Riverbed), we made a reservation (essential) and had delightful service from Paulette. The food is delicious and freshly cooked. If you are in Swellendam then this is THE place to eat.

From starter to dessert, great wine selection and maybe the friendliest staff on this trip so far. Don't miss this gem in Swellendam!

Need to book for this restaurant but definitely worth it. The food and service are excellent. Wine brilliant especially their Albariño. Ate there on both evenings of our stay and can thoroughly recommend the fillet steak and the pork tenderloin. Starters good too. Black fig...with Parma ham memorable.More

Very nice food (duck), more expensive than typical prices, no fans or AC make it uncomfortable in hot weather. Note auto 10% added to bill.
