Ordered a vegetarian pizza to take away, and had great coffee and croissant. So I asked waitress to arrange for the pizza to be delivered. Delivered on time, but got the order totally wrong - served me an Italian pizza with ham instead of a vegetarian pizza. When I called in, apology offered and discount for next time, this defeats the purpose of a ruined dinner. Otherwise a great place. mk

The muffin was old, and not fresh at all. This was yesterday's muffins. The cappuccino was also very average - Disappointing.

The deli has nice freshly baked bread. They also sell freshly cut flowers. The coffee is not very good and is only take- away.

Probably the worst croissant I have ever tried to eat in my life. A soggy rice cake would taste better. Stale, salty, I doubt that it had real butter in it, no flakes like a good croissant should have. They say theybake them there but I doubt it. They were prepacked in plastic and even though they 'warmed it up' for me it was awful.

I am a local and am spoilt for choice when it comes to coffee shops, delis and bakeries in Swellendam. The Country Deli stands out for me in many ways, their freshly baked goods are incredible and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The building has a great deal of character, it was once the Gaolkeepers Cottage as the Old Gaol is part of the Museum, and it has an authentic vintage post box outside, What I particularly like are their fresh flowers - hand made bouquets from a local flower farm - so very special and beautiful. I have to drive past on my way home and it is very hard (impossible) to resist.

Awesome pizzas with a crispy base and the young lady that served us was very friendly and helpful . It is a quient, deli style establishment with limited seating (inside and outside).
