Cavalli’s approach to cuisine can be described as ‘modern, nature inspired cuisine’, inspired by a focus on our heritage as it draws upon the landscapes, flora and fauna of Southern and Continental Africa. The menu seeks to take diners on a gastronomic journey, touching on points of nostalgia paired with an expertly crafted local and international wine list, artisanal cocktail, craft beer and a notable selection of single malt whiskeys. Herbs and a selection of vegetables on the menu are grown in the Estate's self sustained heirloom garden. The restaurant is set to establish itself as a premier fine dining destination locally and internationally and is now open for lunch and dinner 4 days a week, Wednesday through Saturday for relaxed, generous Bistro lunch and Fine-Dining Dinner and Sunday Fine-Dining Lunch.

As we drove up to the restaurant we could instantly tell this place was special.
The views and surroundings are unbelievable especially around sun set. And we've tried quite a few vineyards and restaurants in the area.
The restaurant itself is also really impressive. Lovely clean building with a nice open restaurant area. The terrace area was also a nice place to sit to have a drink and enjoy the appetizers. Once the sun went down and before our starters arrived the waitresses were very accommodating in letting us move inside to enjoy the rest of our meal.
The food was unbelievable. Full of flavour and good combinations. The sweet potatoes with orange and ginger was a big hit along with the Hake and Risotto.
The wine also recommended to us also hit the spot. The staffg were so knowledgeable and explained everything that went into the food and drink.
I'd recommend people try this place especially from the UK as the value for money and setting you can't get anywhere in the UK. It sums up what makes visiting this part of South Africa so special.

We had lunch at Cavalli for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the entire afternoon. The menu offered interesting dishes to choose from including several vegan options.
Each dish is priced individually allowing you to select whatever you fancy without being obliged to take a 2 course or 3 course meal at at fixed price.
The food was excellently prepared and beautifully presented. The service was top and this is what we expect from a top restaurant and is not always the case at other comparable establishments. There is a wide wine selection offered from various wine estates. If you like a full bodied red, then I can recommend "Warlord" produced by Cavalli Wine Estate itself...a real treat.

We were lucky that we had a table on the terrace because the view was just breathtaking. The restaurant inside is too modern and very loud for us. But this is of course a matter of taste. We had a fantastic diner and the Somelier Faria was just great and offered us some really great wines for tasting.

The quality of the winter set menu from the very beginning all the way to the end left me very very happy.
I could have eaten just the veggies and been satisfied with those flavours .
The non alcoholic mocktails were perfect accompaniments as they were not sweet but refreshing allowing me to enjoy the meal several times more!
Even though it was a cold rainy day , the location looked incredible outside, I'm looking forward to coming back on a sunny day and trying the Spring Set Menu but I'm honestly thinking about trying the winter set menu again , maybe with a Cavalli wine this time.

My family and I had a wonderful evening at Cavalli.
We were a particularly difficult table- I have an egg allergy, my dad and his partner have dairy and wheat allergies. We were made special canapés which were allergen free and delicious. Our main courses were all allergen free as well, and we didn't feel obligated to choose one thing in particular, they made a plan based on what we wanted. I personally am never able to eat dessert, so it was a real treat to be able to do so.
Service was great, food was great, and we had a lovely time :)

We had lunch at the estate, seated outside overlooking a small dam with beautiful vistas beyond. The menu is small but diverse. Food is beautifully presented, if somewhat pricey, even for that area. Service was good. We moved inside for dessert because it was too hot outside, and the handover was seamless. Do take time to view the statues around the estate, and the art gallery below the restaurant.

From the moment we arrived the attention to detail was outstanding , the staff especially our waitress Eunice was so attentive with her advice on the food so much I let her choose my dessert. Initially she was reluctant to do so for fear of disappointing me. She chose the Creme Brulee which is something I would never have chosen myself but it exceeded my expectations as it was delicious. Can't wait while next time

We normal work our way through the “eat out” guide whilst we are in the Cape. Usually go for category awards list or nominees.
Cavalli slips under this but is listed with a good review, 20mins from us so decided to give it a try.
What a good decision!. Immaculate modern building with very comfortably spaced including an attractive outside terrace with fabulous views.
Very knowledgeable and friendly service and accommodated my “pescatarian” partner, with no fuss and numerous options, she was amazed at the choices.
Good wine list, try there own red blend, Warlord , exceptional and very reasonably priced. The food was really exquisite they present themselves as “ fine dining with sensible portions”. “They don’t want you to have to stop at McDonald’s on the way!”. The dressed oysters were amazing as was my Springbok main course. In summary, great venue,beautiful location, good service amazingly presented and tasting “proper portion” food a truly memorable evening.
Booked again to take our visitors in two weeks time.

We went to Cavalli for dinner, we were blown away with the stunning view, the whole scenery was very pretty. We ordered the chef’s special which was 7 dishes for R650 per person. For us as South African’s it was quite a lot of money to pay, but was excited to taste the food. We ordered a bottle of wine, it was delicious, but when they were starting to serve the food we rather disappointed in the way they poured the wine, how they put the food down on the table, the way that they take the plate away again, etc. The way the food was presented on the plate was also very disappointing. It was not fine dining at all! I would definitely not recommend Cavalli.

The ambiance is extremely beautiful
The food is filling and great portions, worth the money.
Toilets are supper clean.
The waitors are very attentive and present most of all their knowledge of the menu and how the food was made is exciting..

We started off with wine tasting.The area downstairs from the rest rooms to the wine tasting room itself, the whiskey collection with its interesting assortment of memorabilia was something to behold.The service was friendly and polite.
The restaurant setting,even on a rainy day was light and the views magnificent.The waitron was friendly and efficient and both food and wine were excellent.It was a rainy day and a small log fire was burning.When it got slightly "stuffy" we brought it to the attention of the Manager who after opening the top windows came to check if the change was to our satisfaction.Pricing was reasonable and in line with what is to be expected from establishments like this.A magnificent advert for the so called lesser known Somerset West wine route,and the Cape in general.

We love Cavalli Restaurant so much so that we dine here often. Our meals have always been consistently spectacular. The chef and his team create dishes that are beautiful, the flavours are delicious, and a great balance between textures. There is attention to detail from the service to every dish that lands in front of us. Playful yet distinguished, your tastebuds will go on a journey like no other.

I have visited Cavalli on a number of occasions in the past few years, for either a lunch or a dinner. Each time the experience has been nothing short of excellent.
From the immaculate grounds and gardens, the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, the exquisite attention to detail in the architecture and design of the buildings, to the superb cuisine.
For anyone looking for sophisticated fine dining in a world class setting, Cavalli is the place.
Their occasional seasonal set menu options also always offer exceptional value for money.

Had the privilege and made time to be taken on a tour to this Elegant fine Estate .
World class .
My start to end kept me impressed. Fine arts, architecture,green foot, off the grid power ,elegant dining, exceptional taste experience throughout. Food presentation, flavors and tastes exceptional .The wines are over delivering for the price and that is a rare find. Quality and exceptional flavor.

Returned for their valentines six-course lunch after our first amazing experience in January. This is one of the best restaurants we have ever visited.
From the friendly waiters, beautiful views to the fantastic food we enjoyed every moment.
The restaurant is very accommodating to ensure that you can enjoy every plate and drink they serve you. As a non-drinker, I particularly enjoyed their mocktails and coffee.
