Casual lunch at Fancy Franks

Lovely patio area for sitting, prompt and good service, and the food is always good for a casual meal with your partner or friends. Johnson was our server and greeted us quickly and kindly. He told us about the drink and food specials, which included brandy, vodka, or whiskey, and steak, respectfully. The prices are reasonable and we’ve never had to wait for a table (we usually go for late lunch/early dinner). We would recommend.

Amazing Experience

What an amazing family dining experience we had, thanks to our waiter, Ruan. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel at ease and was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. He clearly knows the menu inside and out, making great recommendations that hit the spot. He really made our evening feel special, by constantly checking for an outside seating area to relax after our amazing meal…experiencing and taking in the breathtaking mountian views… If you’re dining at Fancy Franks, ask for Ruan; he’ll take great care of you!” 🙌👌

Fancy Franks is FIRE!!

We love coming to Fancy Franks. That said, this was an exceptionally grand experience. Brandon was great! I must say that Brandon ensured we were seated quickly, and our food and drinks (all delicious) came out expeditiously. We’re very grateful for his hustle and detailed attention.

Cold, Unfriendly and never to be repeated

Probably the worst meal I have eaten in years! The waitress spent more time talking to other serving staff than she did serving tables. Our food was cold, yet as no one came to check on us, we were unable to complain. The burger itself, if it had been warm, was tasteless, overcooked and on a soggy roll. One gets the feeling that it had been sitting waiting for delivery to the table for a long time, as we had to wait nearly an hour for our food. I'll never go back there as there are so many much better eateries in Somerset West.

Best Gastropub in Cape Town

We went here on the recommendation of our South African friends. It's a casual but quite trendy eatery on a golf driving range which is unusual. The decor is very authentic and someone with a sense of humour was clearly involved. A hipster bar, I suppose but packed full of people, young and hold. A brief menu with pizza, tex mex, great steaks and really good local beers. Fantastic staff. Very quick and friendly service. Very very busy. Loved it.

Exceptional service, scrumptious food!

This was our first visit. Ladies enjoyed a drink while partners enjoyed the driving range, followed by a lunch for all. We were served by Ayanda. If there was an award for best Waitress, she deserves it, hands down. We asked for a virgin pinacolada. It wasn't on the menu and we were told we could order it but that it would cost the same as the alcoholic drink. We left it at that. She returned promptly and said they've loaded this as a new item and we can now order it. WOW! This is now our new fav and we will be back. Thanks to the management too for recruiting the right staff. Really a wonderful experience!

It's alright

Went to Frank's 2 weeks back, the waiter asked us if we'd like a menu each after we had sat for a good 5 minutes. The outside area was windy and everytime I had a smoke the ash went flying everywhere from the open top ash tray. We received no drinks menu so just ordered water and 1 cappuccino. The cappuccino was very nice albeit a bit small for the price which I hadn't known at the time of ordering. We ordered 2 burgers, both the "3 steps from heaven" burger. I ordered mine medium and my friend said I'll take exactly what he's having. When the burgers arrived they were nice but not worth the R150. The waitron who brought he food was not the same one that was serving us. They called out for the medium and I grabbed the plate, they then put the burger down announcing "well-done 3 steps from heaven for you". When my friend bit into it it was medium rare... Not only were they not able to cook 2 patties the same after doubling an order but they didn't even know how the meat was cooked or what it was supposed to be. When I got the bill I was shocked to find out that one of the burgers were free because it was a Monday. We were told of no promotions and no specials. Will visit in a month and see how it compares. As of right now I can't give it more than a 2.

Poor bar service, won’t return

What an absolute disappointment. Went for the Trammps Summer Party but wish I stayed home. The alcohol took over 30 minutes to arrive at our table and when it did arrive our brandy was in missmatched cooldrink glasses and the coke was flat, tasted like sugar water. The food arrived in good time and tasted good. However we came to enjoy the event, not for dinner.

Elissa served us Absolutely incredible service! Despite being called by a different name, Elissa was consistently patient with us progressively drunker and drunker patrons. So very patient, and kept us in the loop of how our drinks and food was coming along. The food and drinks were amazing, too... definitely coming back... tomorrow ;)

What a relaxing fun vibe, the decor, a modern twist on wild west motor mayhem making for interesting sights inside and magnificent views of the mountains on the deck. I found the smoked meats an interesting and favorable delight on the menu with delicious steaks and burgers. The tacos won my heart with smoked pulled pork. Artisan craft beefs and good wine selection. The staff are super eager to give good service and the ever present management team are nothing short of being on top of their game. I can see that we will fast become regulars at Fancy Frank's.

Kareoke Nights

Kareoke Night has become a staple in our weekly get together! The atmosphere is always fun, the staff are always friendly and more than happy to get on the dance floor with you as well as singing too, letting you feel right at home and completely comfortable. The service is exceptional. The food is delicious, never a dull moment.

Waiter made our night!

We went to Fancy Franks for Taco Night and had such a lovely time. Besides from the fish tacos being surprisingly flavorful, we were welcomed by the world's most lovely waiter. Ethan has since then become the main reason to return to Fancy’s! His smile will honestly make your day. But yes, the food is great too.

Burger patty was abit over cooked. Caesar salad was lacking in dressing but they were kind enough to bring more. Franks larger is excellent, margarita lacking in tequila but sorted out by the brilliant waiter Mr senior. Definitely will be back for lady’s night.

Food Just Excellent! A visit to Fancy Franks is a MUST for my wife when we are in Cape Town... The service is always nice and absolutely endeavoured to fulfill every wish and at the meal We have never been disappointed.... The question is rather what to eat...???!!!
