Everytime we come back, the experience is even better! The food was incredible at their annual Helderberg Persfees Christmas in July lunch event. Joined a group of friends for Alex's annual Christmas in July celebration, what an absolutely fantastic way to celebrate the years halfway mark! With lovely decor and an absolutely incredible set menu ( at a very reasonable price) this was an event I absolutely intend...to enjoy many more times. My lunch consisted of a minestrone soup starter, followed by the best Chicken roulade I've ever had for mains and topped off with a rather delicious Christmas cake for dessert. The couple of pieces of Gammon( the other mains option on the menu) that I manged to pilfer off my girlfriends plate was also something to write home about. Alex sits in an unexpected place. A bit of a scruffy neighbourhood. But don't be put off by that. From the parking area with the old sidecar motorbike, the brilliant seating outside under the trees, the diy showerhead cum fountain, through the door where a...friendly fire ushers you in from the cold, you are transported into a magical world. Once you're over the fireplace and the cosyness around you, you start noticing all the quirky petrol head paraphernalia in the restaurant and the beautiful photographs on the walls. We had a great time sipping on delicious coffees. The brownie squares served with it are to die for! I ordered the pork poke bowl, and I am convinced its the best one I've had till now. My companion had a generous cheeseplatter and also loved it. Top all of this yumminess off with excellent attentive service and very readonable prices, and you can understand why I will be back...again and again. Well done!More

Alex on Fire is a hidden piece of heaven with delicious food from talented chefs (especially the nachos and chocolate fondant), amazing service and a warm and welcoming atmosphere with great music! My new favourite spot in Somerset West! 💗🔥

I took my handsome man out for a date here and we had the most wonderful time, great service and delicious food. And great company ;) The chocolate fondant was divine, thanks Alex!
