We haven't visited this establishment for a couple of years so were pleasantly surprised by the improvements. Good seating now inside by nice wide windows and lots more seating outside in the sand. None of the four of us liked the Beach House White wine. We complained to the Duty Manager and, although he couldn't change it, even he rated it four out of ten after tasting it: we rated it one out of ten! Two of us opted for the Pili Pili chicken but were astonished to be told there was no chicken! And this was at 6.30pm. Surely someone could've popped to the nearby PicknPay or Greefs Butchers earlier in the day when it was realised stocks were low. Our waiter was very friendly, and it wasn't his fault that we had to chase our order after having to wait for well over an hour for our food. However, when it finally arrived we all enjoyed our food. The ribs were lovely and tasty and the pizzas also very good. So, get your act together with ordering food and wine, improve the waiting time for food and the rating could easily be improved.

Most inviting Beach Side restaurant. Walked along beach to reach the place. Good drinks & food menus. Service a bit slow but when choices arrived all very good. Size of portions unbelievable! Pili Pili chicken was actually a whole chicken for one person! Certainly go back again!

Set right near the beach with easy parking. We decided to have a quick coffee after a visit to the beach. They were busy preparing for lunch but were helpful and we made an order for cappuccinos and a cake, plus some toast. There was a big TV screen or two showing cricket but the sound was off. Plenty of outside eating area if the weather was clement (which is was not!!) We looked at the menu and they had an interesting range including lots of options for sushi. Coffee had a good flavour but not very hot, the cake was amazingly sweet!! Toast was normal sliced white bread, served with little single use marmalade and butter. They could up their game on these things but it seems to be a young persons funky beach style cafe.

The female toilets did not have toilet rolls and the WHB area was a mess in lockdown level 2. We then proceeded to have dinner and was not issued eating utensils once our supper had arrived, We requested a refill of coffee and was told that that the kitchen had closed at 21h10. As a local who has supported this venue for the past years, I find this service unsatisfactorily. If this is the way you treat your locals then I will rather take my business somewhere else.

As a fellow restaurant owner I fully understand the new laws in SA regarding the selling of beverages due to the convid virus. For this reason we phoned ahead and were informed after 18h00 no drinks would be served but you could bring your own. We went early 16h30 so we could enjoy some wine with our meal at 17h50 I went to the bar to arder a glass of wine before the new law came in to play. The manager told me the bar was closed and he would not serve me. I explained that we had phoned ahead and along as it was before 18h00 we could order a drink. Never have I dealt with such a rude person he will sink this place with his attitude. Why could your wait staff not offer a last round before you closed the bar. You will not be seeing us again and we were loyal customers

We visited the venue in March 2021, service was good and food was lovely... a year later we’ve returned and I can’t believe this is the same place!!!!! The service was shockingly bad, the food was worse. We waited over 45 minutes for our food (prawns dish), I then enquired about our order, no reason/apology for the late food and when it did eventually arrive it was cold and tasteless with the wrong side of choice. When I asked to speak to the manager he refused to come to the table, this man just could not be bothered at all. I will NEvER ever return to this venue and strongly suggest you give it a miss too - there are so much better places in the area.

The service is terrible. The waiters take for ever to serve you that is if you get a waiter to help you. The drinks take ages to get to you and the food also takes a long time. The food is good but the service is bad. The manager also has no regard for his clients he has a bad attitude as if he is doing you a favour.

Great view and vibe. Fish and chips was well prepared and the view watching the dolphins in the sea was magical. I will recommend to my guests @villa palmera in mossel bay as a nice of the beaten track for garden route explorers.

We have read the glowing reviews and decided to give it a try. What a let down. Sure they have a nice vibe, feet on the sand and great bon fire with live music. But if you expect good food lower your expectation. We had a calamari starter and their 'signature chicken". The calamari was soft but tasteless. And the chicken. Well if this is their signature dish I would hate to taste any of their other dishes. We selected the lemon and herb option but it tasted like nothing. No spices and I doubt it that they know what a lemon is. It was dry and over cooked. The chips oily. I would say it is more of a bar that tries to offer food than a restaurant. We ordered three different wines which were all out of stock. Why bother having a wine list. I really think they are way over rated. It is a nice bar. If you want good food, there are many other places in the Sedgefield that offers far better bang for your buck. I came. I tasted. I won't return.

After a flick for a fish and a long beach walk with the doggos, we decided to have a quick meal at Pili Pili before checking in at The Island Retreat. We decided on some nice cold beers and some Portuguese Chicken - best spicy chicken we've ever had. It's gives you both the sheen and runny nose you'd expect from some proper spicing. But our highlight was the car guard, who told us that they'd seat us outside with the dogs, who went inside and called the waiter and organized a mega water bowl for our dogs. All in all it was a wonderful Sedgefield experience

I visited this restaurant during my week stay in Sedgefield about 4/5 times. During my first visit it was only my wife and I ,we got a seat inside waited for about 10 minutes before we got assisted by one of the managers on duty (Gian?)that gave us good service and made good conversation. On the second visit we entered at about 15H05 the afternoon we took a seat call from the staff to take our order the one guy said someone else will come assist because that is not his table, eventually we got assisted about 20 minutes after entering. What I noticed later the evening when we came again for milkshakes with the kids the same waiter that could not help us earlier ran to assist people of a different race , it was really unperculiar to see this type of behaviour in this day and age in South Africa(Not sure if it a management instruction to serve white people first)

Yes, I know the place is meant to be chilled and laid back, but there are certainly a few improvements that can be made! The pizzas are cooked in the wood burning oven outside, but the pizzas are prepared inside and then carried outside stacked on top of each other to the oven??? Whey can't they be prepared outside as well? This causes a lot of unnecessary traffic in the restaurant. Something was being liquidised behind the bar for about 2 hours, also causing unnecessary noise. On the food side, my salmon sashimi was really good, as was the chicken salad. Service was ok. There were a few managers walking around, but didn't seem to check or look at anything

This place used to be too notch. The service has become really poor with a "take it or leave it" attitude. We had to ask the waitron to sanitize the table before we sat down. The response was that they do it once a day, the food is on the pates not on the table. All the meals arrived cold and then the replacement was raw. Time to stop frequenting

We loved the location and vibe. The service was fine. We ordered a selection of dishes and most were really good, but the ribs were really not what we expected, kind of cooked in water with rancid fat... But we will go back there no doubt, where else will we find the Afro cocktail?

2 Weeks we sat with our feet in the sand, every morning and afternoon for our stroll on the Beach and drank coffee or ate something at PiliPili. The staff remembered us, how we want our coffee in take away cups, one hot and one cold milk. They were welcoming, friendly, helpful and we had such a good time with them. Late night ice cream were our favourite time, when the bonfire was high and the smell of the sea and fire welcomed us. Thank you Juma, Zola and Bee for the good time and your interest in us as guest. We will definitely come again. Christo & Rita
