I have dined at Upstairs At Rosie's for three times over the past few years. They specialise in serving steaks, lamb chops, pork ribs and chicken schnitzel. I have enjoyed the best steaks I have ever eaten in my 73 years on each occasion I have been there. it is most definitely the best venue to eat steak all along the Garden Route. The meals are complimented by a short but well priced wine list with a good selection of wines to pair with the dish. The venue is lovely, the service and food are both excellent. I and my friends have sampled the sirloin, rib eye and T-bone steaks. They are all delicious, tender and most tasty, optionally served with a butter garlic sauce and topped with an egg. I unreservedly recommend it as the place to go to have to enjoy the best steaks. Rosie does not compromise on quality and serves the steaks to order. Medium rare and medium are the best, i vote for medium rare.

Our landlady recommended Rosie's and how right she was. I had the most beautifully cooked lamb chops and my partner had a perfect steak. All served by a charming waitress. We could see the owner in the kitchen with her lady assistant and they were joining in with the background music. Such a great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Never mind all the pompous talk about little bits of overpriced stuff. This is real "Fine Dining". We'll be back next year.

On a special visit for my Mom’s 80th, our family took her out for a treat. I’ll cut to the chase: this is the finest restaurant I have dined at in Sedgefield in 15 years and I hope it’s here to stay. Steaks are what this restaurant does,(with a chicken snitzel and lamb chops thrown in for good measure) so if you are vegetarian don’t come here, but boy do they do them well. Tender, tasty, cooked to how you specify, accompanied with great, friendly and professional service and an atmosphere created by tasteful decor makes this a great place to eat. Perched on top of the Sedgefield links golf course club house with spectacular views of the lagoon, this restaurant is well situated to take advantage of the reason everyone comes here, to see nature at its finest. The real secret is probably that Rosie uses experienced and motivated ladies to run her kitchen. The only thing which may stop some is that you can only get there up a staircase and toilets can only be accessed by a staircase. Therefore if you are elderly or disabled you may struggle but it did not stop my 80 year old Mother. Happy birthday Mom.

Our friends recommended Rosie’s over Joplin’s in Wilderness as they thought Rosie’s had a better cut of meat. We have to agree and topped it off with a nice Aiden’s cheese cake. Make it a must if you like steak as they only have 5 items on their menu,

We went to Rosie's on a recommendation from our hotel. The menu is short (5 items for the main course.... 3 steak, 1 chicken, 1 pork) so easy to make a selection! We had an excellent meal (steak and chicken) an excellent bottle of wine and even had dessert (the cheescake is excellent!) A very nice evening in an excellent restaurant that doesn't cost the earth. Highly recommended!

They managed a full restaurant during load-shedding (it means no electricity available) 18:00 - 20:00 in the evening. Food was well prepared according to each one's order. Limited menu, but vegetarian dish available. Informed us before hand what on menu is not available. We will definitely go again.

Rosies steak restaurant always impresses me. We both had the rib eye steak perfectly grilled, topped with a fried egg and crispy chips. You can have a salad , or a comination of both salaf and chips if you prefer. The ambience in the restaurant is quietly elegant, comfortable, and appropriately distanced. Our waitron Kayla was professional friendly and took care of everything we could have asked for. Rosie, it's a pleasure to dine at your restaurant and I always feel happy when I sit at your beautifully decorated tables. Thank you for raising the the 'Steak bar' in Sedgefield.

We'd heard about this place from our parents, who said how good it was. When we arrived, it was already busy, which is always a good sign. Service was a little slow, but she explained that due to " load shedding", many more local people had turned up without booking...... So please book ! On the menu, there were literally only a couple of other options, but you come here for the steak ! We all had ribeye. Absolutely wonderful. We had rare, medium and medium-well. Every steak was perfectly cooked. Make sure you're not the only one who has garlic butter on their steak. You might be fine, but everyone else !!😂 These were some of the best steaks we have ever had. If you want a really good steak in the Sedge/Knysna area, please try this. It's only a small place, just off the N2, but worth every k you drive to get there. We will be back. Thank-you.

The food is excellent but that is only part of the Rosie's experience. The hospitality is warm, friendly and comes from the heart. The menu is simple and straightforward and I believe this is their asset: what they do, they focus all attention on doing to perfection instead of compromising attention for the sake of variety. The service is very efficient, friendly and professional. Faultless. A special place with a view second to none.

A fantastic experience.... what a difference it makes when the proprietor is both “front of house “ and running the kitchen. Superb steak and personal service . It’s brilliant to see such a private and independent operator excel in a world of sameness.

Upstairs at Rosie's is a phenomenal steak house. A compendious menu, with each item delivering beyond expectation. Each experience indelible and unique in its own way. Even as a steak house, they offer delicious chicken and vegetarian options if desired. If you're craving a unique, unforgettable steak house experience swing past Rosie's and tuck in.

Friday the 13th was lucky for us as we had chosen to eat at Rosies in Sedgefield. Our table was close to the kitchen. The first thing that struck me was Rosie and her assistant dancing in the kitchen as they were preparing food. There were only 5 main courses on the menu. If you don't eat steak there is a vegan dish or chicken dish to choose from. Having a small. Menu is certainly Rosie's weapon. Our excellent waitress Lea told us that the Sirlion was chewy that night. Not deterred by the message we still ordered it. I ordered mine just over rare. Although I ordered a 300 grm steak, I'm sure it was much larger. The steak melted in my mouth, was tasty and probably one of the best I have eaten. It certainly was not chewy. The whole evening was absolutely great. Desert and coffee rounded it off. Instead of a sweet at the end we were offered a melk tert shot. Another amazing touch. You need to book. Don't pitch up over the weekend and expect a table. One if Sedgefield's best kept secrets. We certainly will be back on our next visit to Sedgefield.

Where to start! The atmosphere was relaxed and whimsical while feeling like a special night out. The food was marvelous and the service exemplary. I had a sirloin, commonly associated with the tough thing you find at a pub - COMPLETELY different here. I could swear I was having a fillet! This with a side of chips that are crispy on the outside but soft inside and a fresh salad. My partner similarly had a divine experience with her ribeye. Follow that up with a chocolate ganache worthy of a 5 star restaurant and you have the ideal evening. The wine list is small but expertly chosen proving less can be more. Service was upbeat with brilliant recommendations. Let's just say that triple tip is along the lines of the level of satisfaction. If you haven't sumised yet - this is a must.
