If you want good fresh fish - this place is great. Don’t expect super friendly service or a fancy place. Just tasty fish and decent chips. Can eat there or take away.

My husband and I discovered Gordons Seafood restaurant by pure chance while driving through Sedgefield from Plettenberg Bay to George Airport.
The quaint restaurant boasts a rustic and unpretentious ambience. We were warmly welcomed and chose a table in the garden. We were not yet ready for lunch (the menu was very reasonably priced) and enjoyed our coffee while relaxing in the tranquil garden.
Our brief experience at Gordons Seafood was a refreshing break that left us rejuvenated and ready for the road ahead.
PS: The restroom facility was sparkling clean.

The fish is super fresh and melts in your mouth every time. Consistency with portions always.
Gordon the owner does all the work with one cook. He is so humble and one can feel the love and passion he has for his business.
We strongly recommend that you pop in for seafood at its best and Gordon always busy ensuring the best of the best.
Thank you so much for an amazing meal and just down to earth awesomenes.

Drove down from George to have some fish and chips at Mr Kaai, but they were closed. Decided to try Gordons instead. Fish and calamari was tasteless. With the calamari you were not sure if it was real calamari or fake. I really regret the experience.

Upon entering was ignored. Another member of our party then approached the cooking area and inquired if a table was available. He was brushed off by a man in the kitchen who rudely told him the restaurant was full. We looked around in astonishment as only two tables were occupied.
We had just just arrived in Sedgefield after a long journey and this left a bitter taste...
We will unfortunately not get to eat here while visiting Sedgefield.

Unplanned, we decided to do a short stopover for lunch in Sedgefield and just by pure luck did we find this little gem in the mainroad.
Although not yet licensed we managed to get cold refreshments from a nearby store and settled down for wonderful fish , calamari and other trimmings.The calamari was absolutely the best to date on the Garden Route.We will be back and then we will stay longer to savour the ambiance of Gordons Seafoods.

Although the Garden Route boasts such a stunning coastline, finding good seafood in its restaurants is not easy... so this find is a keep for sure. Simple menu, no frills, good fish, lovely calamari, all done buy Malawian Thomas in his re-furbished kitchen. No liquor licence, so you take your own wine; which adds to the value of the low-cost tab.

Have a very good fish and chips there. Light batter on the fish and excellent chips. Price reasonable too.

The best calamari we have had to date. The fish was also done to perfection. Lovely friendly atmosphere. A true gem of Sedgefield. Will definitely be back every time we pass through the area. Thanks Gordon!

Very good seafood at Gordons. Try the calamari, it is the best south of Port Nolloth. Will go back when visiting Sedgefield again.

We got takeaways. The snoek and chips is what I was after. Not the best I've ever had, but I enjoyed it. The fish and chips was good too. And the calamari combo (their best seller) was worth the recommendation. A good simple stop. No frills, but nice food.

After a morning at the beach my dad recommend that we try Gordon's as he heard the calamari was divine. We arrived, Gordon greeted us, gave us a menu and said we could sit wherever we wanted and he would be with us as soon as he finished serving a table. Not even 5 minutes later he was back with us ready to take our order. He said the food would take about 30 minutes to prepare as its cooked per order. To my delight the food came out in probably half that amount of time!! Fish was flaky and tasty and the calamari melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
Gordon's Seafood is very homely serving true seafood comfort food and is great value for money. See you next time I'm in Sedgefield!!!

We had a very affordable fish meal here, with the prices more than reasonable and the fish tasty. I'd much rather have a no-frills meal, than have an over-priced version of the same thing, at a trendy restaurant.
Service was friendly and efficient too, with miimum waiting time experienced.
