An unexpected find, gourmet par excellence from a well-trained team! While not the cheapest in town, the quality surpassed expectations.

This was my 3rd visit at The small restaurant. Apparently the chef changed in between. I enjoyed my dinner, but was not blown away. The ravilli were good, but not very refined, the fish was excellent, and the dessert - the lemon tart, not very...delicate. I was expecting something more "fine dining" espcially considering the price. The staff and the place are awesome...More

We had the steak and it was done to perfection. The vegetables tastes like moreish because it was so yummy. Had our breakfast also there and can't even begin to tell you how nice it was. From fresh homemade muffins to fresh bread 🥪

This fantastic boutique hotel is such a special place to visit especially during this Covid time. We had a superb lunch here yesterday under the amazing talent of Shylock who trained under Chris Erasmus. Every dish was superb and wonderful to see this level of...cuisine in our country. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit, you won’t be disappointed. The Salmon trout was superb and our guest said he had never eaten pork belly that good!!!More

The staff was great and the food was delicious. We came here to relax for a romantic dinner and it surpassed our expectations. Everything was fresh and original, the service was warm and friendly, the staff attentive, and the location feels intimate. I highly recommend...you try the restaurant next time you're in Robertson. I would love to stay at the hotel too when we're back!More

Had two dinners in the Restaurant. Food was excellently prepared and presented. Considering power outages were taking place this was some achievement. Some of the food combinations were complicated but good to try something different. Large portions! Breakfast was again excellent with a varied buffet...and very unusual cooked options.More

We stayed at the Robertson Small Hotel which we hear has won an international award for Boutique Hotels. We had dinner and breakfast at the Restaurant. Dinner has a limited menu suitable for the carnivore as well as vegan. I had the Cape bokkom (...salty dried fish pieces) Caesar salad which was a perfect serving size and whetted the appetite instead of filling the stomach. Husband had the snoek terrine (local South African west coast endemic fish) which he raved about. For mains I had the pork belly hot pot which might be a bit spicy for some, but perfect for me and he had chicken Ballantine which is a tricky dish to prepare as it can be very dry. Perfect! The desserts were beautifully prepared and presented and delicious. A restaurant worth visiting but better still, rather stay the night!More

Beautiful quaint restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Good wine list and most of the wines are available per glas. Vegetarians will also find something interesting to consume on the menu. The prices are a bit high, but remember that you...will have quality dishes from an internationally recognized chef.More
