Tasty lamb, a little over cooked but delicious. Pleasant venue in the heart of Prince Albert. Good spot for people watching. Friendly staff

Lovely local wines to choose from... Extensive wine list. I had the traditional bobotie with some scrumptious veggies including butternut, carrots, baby marrows and a cucumber salad on the side. My partner nibbled on a juicy chicken breast with some crunchy chips plus a green...salad on the side. Tasty food, great Pinotage and a relaxing atmosphere. Just note that the restaurant can get very busy so to book in advance would be a good idea. Compliments to the Rude Chef.More

Contrary to other reviews we were not impressed by the food at the Rude Chef. It is a pleasant setting in a relaxed atmosphere. The food however reminded me of a plate of food in my hostel days at university. There was nothing special about...it, no garnish and frankly it was not appealing either nor tasty . For R140 I expected a tasty plate of food, well presented and prepared with care. I had the pulled pork and the medium portion was okay but lacked flavor . It is served with mashed potatoes and two very bland vegetable dishes, 4 chunks of dry butternut and creamed spinach with a hint of a slice or two courgette and green beans. The Greek salad for R70 was the smallest I ever had in any restaurant. My friend had the leg of lamb which was three slices, it was dry and lacked taste and flavor. For us it was a disappointment and definitely not worth it. There are other eateries in Prince Albert that offers much better food.More

With our four day stay in Prince Albert, “The Rude Chef” was suggested by our host. We were not disappointed at all. Delicious and very tasty food. Pulled Pork and Venison Pie with lots of veggies. Great wine list as well. Good service from a...friendly who served us. We can only highly recommend this restaurant whenever you visit Prince Albert.More

We phoned to reserve a table as we heard that Andre Schwartz is visiting the town and the restaurants will be busy. They were very accommodating and said that we should come early. The service was good and the food very good. Will go there...again when we visit Prince Albert.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Rude Chef. We both had very tasty home cooked meals, along with a dessert which was also great. We'll go back and can recommend this restaurant.

So with Covid lockdown level 3, finding a restaurant which complies with the regulations is essential. We had a very tasty meal here and a pleasant chat with the "not rude chef".

It was a one night stop in Prince Albert and my birthday! We chose the Rude Chef for great reviews and conveniently situated to our hotel The menu is small but thankfully had a couple of Vegetarian options for Me! I chose the veggie stack...it was presented well and tasted just as good My husband had lamb chops he was happy They had very nice Dry rose by the glass after a 330 am wake up that was all we could manage! The owner is The Rude Chef, and lovely - definitely not rude!More

Excellent food, real country service and hospitality, even a med lemon for a patient, going the extra mile. Really worth the trip from the Garden Route. Great Prince Albert atmosphere!! Do not miss out!
