Realise this was Wednesday, but what a change. The restaurant was quiet only people on the balcony. Unfortunately the food was not as good either. The duck pie was okay, but the lamb shank not cooked long enough. Hope it improves as a lovely setting.

We had vegetable tempura, carpaccio with figs and lamb shank which were all good and service was pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately on the night that we dined there were only 6 other customers so it lacked atmosphere.

My wife and I had dinner here one evening. It’s a great concept being able to dine surrounded by original local artwork, most of which is for sale. The food was excellent. We both has a roasted fig starter, followed by two different lamb main...courses, cooked using locally sourced produce. The wine list contained a good selection and was very reasonably priced. Service was friendly and professional. A very pleasant way to spend an evening.More

We have visited this restaurant on 2 previous visits to Prince Albert and in our opinion the food is not as good. The setting is lovely on the veranda upstairs with a fab view of the street and the mountains beyond. The food is mediocre...and we will rather choose a different restaurant next time we visit Prince Albert.More

We were recommended Gallery Cafe as it is pet friendly if sitting outside. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu is short with a number of vegetarian items and our meal was good.

Our guest house owner booked our dinner in advance so we thought it would be good. Nice ambience and fair service. However the lamb shank was tough, probably overcooked, and all 3 main course dishes arrived luke warm. Tourists expect more for their money than...average food at fairly high prices. PS the stairs to the restaurant are not for aged visitors.More

After being recommended to go here for dinner we made a reservation . On arrival we placed our drinks order and what we wanted for dinner. Pork neck and lamb shank . Our drinks arrived and that was where our service ended. We waited and...waited to receive our bread basket when all the tables around us received theirs. After 2 hrs our food still had not arrived. When we enquired the waitress looked surprised and quickly went to the kitchen . Then came and asked us what we ordered . Finally the food arrived . It was ok but by then we had lost our appetites. They apologized and did not charge us for our drinks. A very disappointing experienceMore

We waited 2 hours after ordering for our meal to be served. The food , when it eventually arrived was delicious.

The restaurant is on the upper level of the building via stairs. Victorian style building, wooden floors and enclosed balcony. The menu is adequate suitable to vegetarians and meat eaters. Tasty and wonderfully presented. Wine list supports the local wineries but extends to great wines...of the Western Cape region. Rather make a reservation ahead of time.More

The Gallery Cafe has the disadvantage to be situated in Prince Albert. After 6pm the town seems to be dead, almost no cars on the streets and no one walking by. That gave my girlfriend the creeps and she felt to be in a zombie...town. But this is not about the town, the restaurant is pretty good with a very good choice of wines. The menu is showed on a chalkboard on a chair, the service is very correct with little waiting time and the food surprisingly good. We would go there again next time!More
