The food was spectacularly good, but it is not a place to bring your kids unless they are exceptionally interested in food and well behaved.

Who would expect two great Asian-food restaurants in Hout Bay? Well here they are... both Kitima and Cheyne's, though different in concept, are just great. The tapas-style menu at Cheyne's is creative and delicious (go for the 4-course option, and include a few tempuras), the service is knowledgeable and friendly, and there is special vibe which is unlike any other... Came to celebrate my birthday and found the new menu had started today. Service and explanations great and the tempura prawns and pork dishes were just the best. So light and full of flavour . We went for the 4 course option, it would have been rude not to!

We've been to Cheyne's a couple of times and have not been disappointed. We love the tapas-style menu. There are so many amazing dishes on offer, thank goodness you don't need to choose just one (this coming from a vegetarian). The service is great and the kitchen always gets a free round of beer on us - they deserve it!

We have been to Cheyne's many times, and just love the diversity of the menu, which changes every so often, but one cannot help but be tantalised by such delicious food. The chili salted squid is a given starter, followed by soft shelled crab. Then the yellow tail cervice is outstanding, and .....well go and check all the other stuff... More

My wife and I managed to get a reservation on the day and were pleased we did. The ambiance, the meal, and the service was excellent. Well worth a return visit.

Well worth a visit modern Pacific-rim tapas type food exceptional, but service a bit hit and miss and could understand the menu better.

Small plates in a small restaurant. Some tables outside which would be less noisy, discounting the traffic. Very highly flavoured Pacific-rim dishes, some actually over salted and difficult to finish. No rice, no bread. Excellent service from well trained waiters. Wine list adaquate, nothing special but well priced. Interestingly his restaurant in De Waterkant, Shio, also has highly flavoured dishes... More
