About
Welcome to Franschhoek, one of the culinary hot spots on the African continent. Our estate restaurant - Franschhoek Kitchen, is rated one of the valley's leading restaurants. Franschhoek Kitchen's standards are based on the best international cuisine but our heart lies in the simplicity and pureness of each and every ingredient. High dining is for others, we prefer to see our guests enjoy a home-made dish, inspired by the country we live in and the farm we work on. Our vineyard is heavily influenced by the seasons, so are we, so is our food - nature at its best, brought onto your plate - either in the dining room, amidst the vines outdoors, or in form of a picnic along the Franschhoek river

Salmon, pork belly and Eaton Mess AMAZING …esp with paired wine Little disappointed with crayfish (too creamy), service a little slow. But great food/wine for lazy lunch just don’t be in rush!

We loved our visit here. After wine tasting at our favorite “Stony Brook” which is very close, we booked lunch at Franschoeck Kitchen” at Holden Manz. Having dined here years ago, we were excited to return. This was one of my favorite meals in the...area! And we had some amazing food over the past week. The setting is gorgeous on a terrace overlooking the expansive vines and mountains. Menu is quite small with 4 appetizers and 4 entrees. We chose the beet cured salmon and venison carpaccio for starters, both were fantastic. Table by us were raving about the carrot appetizer. Main courses we had the pork belly which was crispy and delicious, and the grass fed steak, which I loved with a wonderful mushroom sauce. Veg was perfectly cooked. We had an amazing bottle or Holden Manz Proprietors Red Blend, highly recommended. Service was laid back and casual, very friendly. Cant wait to return!More

Holden Manz has always been are go to place for the best chardonnay in the valley. We tried the restaurant today . My line fish was exquisite and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My husband had the steak which was sinewy. The chef came...to speak to us about it but was very nonchalant and did not apologize. Just said he would look into it. Staff attentive as always. I think there needs to be more of a connection between the tasting room menu and the restaurant menu as people were asking for starters from the tasting room menu . Namely creamy mussels which was denied. It comes from the same kitchenMore

Overpriced for average food. The menu prices were not the same as the bill. Wine and dessert charged more than the menu. Great views and friendly staff.

The restaurant is essentially a side attraction to the main business of a working vineyard and supporting its wine tasting operations A small menu offers four or five starters and mains with wine pairing suggestions which are optional but I found them well balanced and...very good. The food was very tasty and well presented. A choice of an open terrace with eight tables offers an intimate ambience ideal for summer lunches and dinners, or a more formal restaurant room is available for all weather dining. The premises can also cater for larger functions.More

We were seated on a lovely outside balcony. The waiters were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We took advantage of a two course wine pairing. I had the oysters and my wife the salmon. For our main course we had Kudu and Pork Belly. The rosé...wine was delicious and we popped by this morning to buy a bottle. Fully recommended.More

Amazing meal in a lovely setting. We are staying in the country house across the vineyard so was a short walk to the amazing restaurant. Was a quiet Tuesday night so they allowed me to do a wine tasting during the meal which felt like...a wine pairing (not sure possible on busy nights but winery closes at 5pm) Lovely eating space with indoor and outdoor options. We decided indoor and the eating room was wonderfully / thoughtfully decorated as is the whole estate. The food was great. Ostrich carpaccio starter was very tasty and beautifully presented. Our mains of kudu was very tender in a delicious rich sauce. My wife wanted it slightly more cooked through and the chef did a great job of making sure it still kept the tenderness. The staff were attentive and helpful with the wine journey of Holden Manz. Cabernet Franc and Big G being my favourite of the tasting!More
