Forget the pretentious and overpriced coffee shops and restaurants on Franschhoek's Main Road - just go to The Hoek, where you will get seriously good coffee made by baristas who really know what they are doing.

Staff are rude, they don’t greet or explain anything. If you are not a local they are not interested. Was disappointing as we were looking forward to trying this. Coffee was nice though.

The Hoek has been a family favorite for years. The moment one was able to, we all couldn't wait to have coffee at The Hoek. Whether it's takeaway or sit down coffee, you're guaranteed to have an amazing cuppa, great service and an overall satisfying...and happy experience. They also have amazing baked goodies on display, which goes wonderfully with a nice coffee. I drink my coffee with almond/soy milk and they always make the most amazing flat whites for me. They also sell coffee which is wonderful as a gift, or to take home. Highly recommend! They're by far a favorite.More

Tiny little place but great coffee and service. Small (but tasty) options of cookies and biscuits. Very helpful staff.

One of the best flat whites in SA plus a great friendly spot. Come and see the barrister, Darlington, take on locals at chess between brewing great coffee.

Small little cafe just off the Main Street - amazing coffee and lovely homemade rusks. They have a few indoor seats, and some undercover seating outside. They also offer cold drinks and some light foods too.

We stopped in for a latte and a chai and had a lovely time. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and some quiet off the main road.

Stumbled over this great coffee shop, with fabulous coffee and tasty home made cakes and cookies. It’s not on the main road so not patronised by the ‘me me’ crowd. Down to earth honest coffee shop. Give it a try if you are in Franschhoek...and you won’t be disappointed.More

It is wonderful to frequent a coffee shop that feels like a home away from home! It is quaint, quirky, cosy and welcoming and the baristas are the best! Selfishly I want to keep it as a local secret but then again it is Christmas...Eve and the time for giving! So local or visitor, make sure you get your kick at the Hoek!More
