We walked past and I liked the look of the menu and went in and I’m so glad we did. I had the grilled Gemsbok fillet and my partner had the line fish. The sommelier’s wine pairing were absolutely spot on and the wine was...gorgeous. The food was done to perfection and my compliments to chef Ahmed Balogun and his team!More

What an incredible evening. We had a 3 Course meal for only R195pp. The food was exceptional! The service was phenomenal - thank you Michelle, Bennan & Freddie. The ambiance is cozy, romantic & intimate. We’ll DEFINITELY be back. Amazing!

Had 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner at this lovely cafe. On each occasion, staff were very friendly, respectful and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious, beautifully cooked and great value. Had mussels one lunchtime, also delicious. Unfortunately our dinner experience was disappointing. Service was incredibly...slow and our waiter seemed to misunderstand much of what we said so I ended up with a very overcooked steak. However, our overall experience was really good and we would definitely visit again, but maybe not for dinner.More

We enjoyed such a wonderful evening under the care of Freddie and Exec Chef Ahmed. The food was excellent - unusual, totally freshly made, and perfectly presented - and the service made the whole evening wholly memorable.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Possibly the best wine list in South Africa (not exaggerating) and the food is high-end casual, perfectly made and delicious. Service friendly and competent. Honestly a perfect lunch.

Charming restaurant with a different menu selection that we enjoyed. Loved the varied African options then French choices. Decor is chic and quirky. Thanks to James and the team for being so attentive.

We’ve visited here over the years and really enjoyed it. This time in the morning whilst passing, we booked a table inside on the understanding that if the weather was good, we could have a table outside. They gentleman taking the booking was great. On...arrival, we spoke to what I assume was the manager/head waiter who was very short with us - as it was windy outside, no one was sat outside so we asked if we could have the table inside. He promptly told us there were no tables ready to which we pointed out there were tables inside available which weren’t reserved. His attitude was terrible and as a result we waited an absolute age for anyone to actually take a drinks order, I assume as punishment as we were ignored - in fact I had to ask a waiter to take our drinks order which to make matters worse after an eternity he brought the wrong wine down from upstairs (which happened to be around 4 times the price of what we ordered). So we waited even longer for him to bring the correct wine. We both opted for the cape malay curry which in fairness was exactly how we remembered it from our visit last year - very nice. Not great service though and as a result we would question whether to return which is such a shame based on previous visits.More

Having spent months researching our very special tour of South Africa, Franschhoek was a must. Then where to eat? We are so happy to have been able to book before we came. So popular and excellent is this gem that we witnessed so many turned...away because they were full. First advice make sure you book. We did it in the UK via WhatsApp on their website. The food is excellent and wine list has something for everyone. Any restaurant relies on good food and drink but here the staff turn the meal into a memorable experience. It is always difficult to equate costs but to say the same meals and wines in London would have been quadruple the price is it an exaggeration. What more can I say? Just ensure if you’re in Franschhoek book up and enjoy.More

The amazing mixture of French style and South African cuisine came to fruition in every dish we tasted. The food was accompanied by selective grease wines matching the food perfectly. Thank you chef Ahmed B for this amazing experience!!!

Brilliant all day cafe on a prime spot of Franschhoek’s Main Street. Lovely, kind and skilled staff serving good, generous food that is delicious! Try their Bobotie spring rolls! We seem to gravitate to this place for breakfast, lunch and diner. Sitting on their terrace...for breakfast is one of the highlights of our stay in Franschhoek. Really worth a visit.More
