We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very peaceful and secure location. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the game drives, especially the night drive were so exciting. And we recieved a big surprise on my wife's birthday. We hope to visit soon.

We were a group of six guests and from the moment of our arrival at Longhope Villa we were treated with such friendliness and hospitality, that we felt at home instantly. The food was excellent. The highlight of our stay however were our game drives with Christiaan, who is not only a exceptional person but has a unbelievable knowledge of the animals, the vegetation and the birds! This knowledge he brings across with such passion that you just want to hear more. We even experienced a herd of 81 elephants walking right past us - what a sight!

After having just enjoyed three days of safari at a private reserve, I didn’t really think that we needed to visit another camp. Boy was I wrong and thank goodness our travel agent insisted. During our initial drive down a long gravely road we were greeted by a herd of zebras and elephants, warthogs, Kudu’s and more. We were the only guests at the lodge that night and even though we arrived late, our ranger Paul was waiting for us to take us on a nighttime game drive. We adores Paul immediately and bece fast friends. The lodge and grounds are perfectly maintained, the meals truly exceptional and all the staff were warm, caring, attentive and professional. While we were truly blown away by the wildlife and scenery, we would agree that everything at River Bend deserves a 5 star plus rating. It was one of the best surprises of our entire vacation and we cannot wait to return with our adult children

We recently stayed for two days at River Bend Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comes with very amenities one would wished for. The breakfast was good and have variety of food for all. The team led by Debbie was fantastic and caring. Our game ranger John was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall not to be missed

An amazing setting for this 5* lodge. What an experience! Excellent staff, first class chef, delicious wine but to top it all was the ranger Meina. She knew everything about the wildlife, the fauna and is a first class off-road driver. She introduced us to elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, zebra, antelope, mongoose, warthog, tortoise, monkey and several birds. A couple of ‘pinch me’ moments and a moment of ‘reverse quick the elephant is showing signs of anger!’ The accommodation is comfortable and very clean. Dinner was superb (chef Sophie), the waiters absolutely charming and the waterhole setting an experience not to be forgotten. Thank you.

What a great experience. The food is excellent and the service is enthusiastic, but sometimes a little bit deficient. The rooms are well thought out, spacious and comfortable with little extras like Nespresso machines and mini-bars. The high point are the game drives with so much wildlife and big game in the beautiful reserve.

Comfortable upscale accommodations, cozy facilities, great food, friendly and capable staff, and you're surrounded by wildlife! We stayed in the lodge's private house but the lodge's rooms looked quite nice, too. We had game drives on the lodge's 14,000-acre private reserve and in adjacent Addo Elephant National Park. We saw elephants, lions, water buffalo, zebras, elands, kudus, warthogs, jackals, ostriches, baboons, monkeys, large tortoises, and more! Be sure to give yourself several hours to drive through Addo Park to N2 when you leave the lodge.

The reason I have only given 4 stars is the lack of choice on the menu. I realise there are never more than 16 dinners but a choice of 2 starter and deserts would be nice. However the meal was tasty and the setting on the terrace is amazing. My prawn and ginger risotto was cooked to perfection. Nice to meet the chef after the meal.

The lodge is absolutely wonderful and the service is outstanding your ever wish and need is taken care of. The Safaris where amazing, we saw Lions, Rhinos, Ostrich, Zebra and at one point we had over 60 Elephants around our vehicle and some only a few feet away. The price seemed a little expensive until you realize that everything is included as a package deal. Absolutely worth the cost.

Our family of 7 booked at Riverbed for their special Mothers Day Lunch - the Kitchen, bar and restaurant staff did not miss a beat, the food was fantastic, the service impeccable and ambiance out of this world (looking out onto the plains in front of us, where zebra and antelope were grazing - apparently we had just missed the elephants). The menu consisted of a 3 course meal (with 2 choices per course), as well as a complimentary glass of bubbles for every mom! The courses were beautifully presented, and most importantly very tasty, and reasonably priced (R195/p). Very well done, and thank you for a wonderful lunch, highly recommended! Cant wait to be back for Fathers Day shortly!
