We had a wonderful dinner here during our stay in Cape May. Beautiful decor and overall ambiance with multiple indoor and outdoor dining areas. Fantastic menu with seasonal specials. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers (focaccia and one of their specials for the night), lobster with...pasta in a brandy/lobster/cream sauce (which by the way is one of the best pastas I’ve ever tried) and crab cakes. Our server was very attentive and welcoming. Shaved off half a point for our drinks not being made to our liking. We would definitely recommend Washington Inn to anyone visiting the area, and look forward to enjoying another delicious dinner here in the future.More

The Washington Inn is absolutely perfect for an upscale meal with class. The decor is beautiful, transitional, updated while maintaining charm. The service is impeccable and still friendly and warm. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the burrata and chilled shrimp appetizer. For dinner...we had the cioppino and the flat iron steak- both were incredibly delicious and cooked perfectly. They went out of their way for my daughter and made her a special tropical drink and plain pasta. It’s the best food we’ve had in Cape May, ever, on par with upscale restaurants in Manhattan. I can’t say enough good things about our experience and meal. We would absolutely return and recommend! Thank you Washington Inn.More

We had a very nice dinner here on a busy Wednesday evening. Very nice service, nice setting on the outside patio and a very good burrata app. Unfortunately our halibut and whole branzino entrees were kind of dried out and just not very flavorful. We...asked for a leisurely paced meal and were acvomodated. I'm not sure but I have a ferling our fish spent time under a lamp? Anyway, a nice restaurant and a good overall time.More

Our rental host recommended making reservations very early given a busy season at the Shore, and I was glad I did. This is my parents’ favorite restaurant in Cape May, and I wanted to book for my father’s birthday, We had both an excellent meal...and wonderful service. Recommend asking for Mario (who has been working there close to 20 years). It is clear why this restaurant remains at the top of the list year after year! Thanks for a great evening!More

Seriously some of the best food we’ve had in awhile. I hade their swordfish with a sushi rice cake and my husband had the rack of lamb. Both expertly prepared and very flavorful. We also had the crab and corn chowder and the escargot. Again...well prepared. However the delight of the evening was Darin. An expert server who was well prepared and professional. I can’t say enough about our experience this evening. Wine list is phenomenal and ambience was perfect. Definitely worth your time.More

Consistently one of the best restaurants in Cape May, with nice outdoor dining options now. The food and service are always excellent, and a nice bar area for before or after the meal. They also have valet parking if you’re driving.

Just had the most wonderful dinner at the Washington Inn, in CapeMay NJ. We had a gift certificate since before the pandemic, the waiter didn’t mind at all. The food is about the best we have ever had. Our waiter Margo was absolutely marvelous. The...atmosphere was outstanding. We live in the area so this wasn’t just a vacation night out. I look forward to enjoying more dinners at the Washington Inn.More

The Washington Inn has always been one of the best restaurants in Cape May & last night did not disappoint. We shared the crab cake appetizer which was delicious and we each had the 10 ounce lobster over home made papadelle with roasted tomatoes and...baby spinach in a light blush sauce. PERFECT. The bottle of Sancerre was a good choice for the lobster. It’s a little pricey but we’ll worth it. If you like lobster and pasta, there is no other choice.More

Everything about this was 5 stars EXCEPT we waited an exceptionally long time for the main course to arrive. The ambiance was great and the food was first rate. However, there was a "misunderstanding" in the kitchen and we had to seek out the server...to find out about the delay. They did comp dessert.More
