Love McGlades for breakfast. Food is fresh and delicious. Great variety. You can't beat the view. You are right on the beach front with ocean views. Very relaxed and casual.

We have been to Cape May numerous times over the years, and I'm ashamed to say I hadn't realized McGlades's existed. We've enjoyed the many wonderful places to eat along the Washington Street Mall and elsewhere, but we never had the pleasure of seeking out...a restaurant at the beach till this past visit. We made reservations for dinner, and since the restaurant opens at 5, we enjoyed the view of the beach for a bit, walking along the boardwalk, and visiting the Convention Center and other shops along the way before going into McGlade's. Clearly, this place is well positioned, but I consider it a hidden gem, since it's not visible from the boardwalk, located on the side of the Convention Center, literally just off the beach. Enough about location. Let me tell you that the staff is excellent, pleasant, helpful, and professional. The food choices are great too, and you don't wait a half hour for the meal to come. If you eat here, you absolutely need to eat in the "outdoor" porch (screened in), which looks right out at the beach and the ocean. If I knew how to do it, I'd include a picture of what we were looking at while we were eating. The restaurant is only open through October, I believe, so if you go in the fall, you might want to bring a jacket or sweater, as the ocean breeze by then would be quite cool. Honestly, while I'm saddened that I didn't know about McGlade's before, I'm so glad we found it this time. It won't be the last time we go here.More

Did break fast three time in 7 days and was excellent all three times. Mira is a terrific and personable server and she anticipates needs which you don't see a lot of any more. Be prepared not to finish Olivia's French toast - best bargain...on the breakfast menu IMHO. And to just be able for look out over the ocean is truly value added. A mainstay for every trip to the Cape we take.More

We've eaten here many times but this time it was just not up to par. I love their shrimp omelet and they always have the little shrimp in it. This time they were regular size shrimp and so big that when you tried to cut...them you ripped apart the omlet. We just didn't feel it was up to par.More

We had a delicious dinner during our last night in Cape May. I had the best soft shell crab entree, sauteed not fried. My husband loved his flounder platter (also not fried and very flavorful), and my son devoured his surf and turf. There were...tons of huge shrimp in my daughter's scampi as well. We sat right by the beach and had a very attentive and friendly server as well. The whole night was definitely a highlight of our trip!More

We ordered take out dinner to avoid wait for a table and were were pleasantly satisfied. Summer scallops, nicely grilled, and crab cakes, crabmeat rather than filler. The julienned grilled veggies on the side were tasty and the service was good too. Worthwhile for dinner...as well as breakfast.More

Been going to this restaurant for many years! Always a Must stop on our trip to cape may, Best view in cape may and one of the top Breakfast places I have been to ! The staff is always nice and helpful and the food...is always good. The' French Toast' is my favorite as well as the Waffle's , but the main selling point are the 'omelettes' which there is many to choose from , 'Tee's choice' is my number one favorite ! If you want a good time and a great omelette this is the place to go to.More

First of all let me start by saying that if a restaurant does not have a functioning bathroom let should inform prospective customers before they are seated. At the time of our visit we sat down, ordered and then asked where the bathroom was and...the hostess informed us that the nearest working bathroom was the portable public bathroom on the boardwalk. We were drawn to this place because of the positive reviews advertised outside from local and national papers. The reviews and the food quality do not match, sub par to say the least. Much of the lunch menu is made of of dishes that are created with mayonnaise. If you like mayonnaise this is the place for you. My husband likes mayo and decided to have the crabcake melt on an English muffin while I opted to go off the menu and order a BLT without mayo. The meals come with fries and a small slice of watermelon. The waitress was very pleasant and the service was really good. She brought our food out and my sandwich had exactly 2 slices of bacon, a slice of tomato, and a lot of lettuce. It was basically lettuce sandwich with a slight hint of bacon and tomato., disappointing. My husband's crab melt was a lump of sloppy goop placed on an English muffin that was barely toasted and soggy. The idea of the melt is to have the crispness of the English muffin to compliment the creaminess of the crab and cheese. This was just a sloppy, soggy mess with absolutely no flavor. The fries were frozen and not fresh cut. I am not sure why this place has so many positive reviews. The food is sub par. Perhaps it is the view of the ocean, which is really pleasant. I would suggest going here for a drink because of the view but they do not have a liquor license and you would have to bring your own which means you would need to order the food. Not worth it.More

They are BYOB as of October 7, 2017. Also worth noting that they do not offer soda on the menu. Only iced tea and lemonade.
