Easily the best of the restaurants we tried over a week in North Conway.. Nice staff, great decoration and seating, excellent food at a good price. We went to seven different restaurants, most of them over priced or difficult to eat in. May Kelly's was...so good, we stayed an extra day so we could go to it again for dinner. Between us we had four different entrees and four different appetizers. All were good. Who would have thought corn in an Irish Shepheard's Pie? Very tasty. We did not try the steaks, and I cannot vouch for them - - the cooked dishes were a delight. The drinks were extensive. Our favorite was the mix of Guinness stout and Harp lager. The stout visually stays at the top of the glass, the clear lager goes to the bottom, but the taste is a mix that changes a little as you drink along.More

More of an authentic Irish pub than the Shannon Door. My husband and I ate here in July, high season in North Conway. Naturally, the restaurant was much more crowded than in April 2019. Still, we were seated immediately in the bar area, rather than...wait 45 minutes for a table in one of the dining rooms. My husband finally had his shepherd's pie--which is still sublime--and I had fish and chips. Also delicious, and both in huge portions. Got two more meals out of each. Our server and the hostess were wonderful. Food came out promptly, and nice and hot. I ordered the bread pudding to go, with ice cream on the side. Didn't like their recipe. I prefer a softer, creamier style. This was more like true bread--harder and denser. Everyone makes bread pudding differently. I am grateful that May Kelly's is located a few miles away from the crush of North Conway. It was a quick trip from our hotel, The Lodge at Jackson Village, to the restaurant.More

We intended on visiting another restaurant. Once we arrive at the other location we discovered it was closed ? A Thursday evening 6pm and closed ? Well we headed back out to Rt 16 and came across a restaurant named Mae Kelly's. There were many...cars in the lot so we said "what the heck". What a fun time. The menu had many options. All very reasonably priced. The decor and decorations kept us busy while we waited for our food. Once our meals arrived I was very happy with the portions and the quality/taste of my meal. Considering our original plan wasn't available we are very happy to find Mae Kelly's. I urge you all to try this place. A pleasant surprise.More

We were staying in the North Conway area for a week and as always we stopped at Mae's for dinner and were not disappointed. The server took our drink order promptly and when she returned asked if we were ready to order or if we...needed more time to review the menu. The food came out exactly as ordered and we were asked if a refill on our drinks was needed. Very friendly non rushed service even though they were very busy that day.More

One of the most interesting restaurants you'll ever visit. The interior is crammed (and I mean crammed!) with antiques and nick-nacks of all sorts which appear to be genuine rather than reproductions that you sometimes find in other "retro" themed restaurants. Food and service were...good. Definitely worth a seeing for the decor alone.More

Went out with another couple for dinner on a Wednesday. Hostess was very nice. Had a 45 minute wait. There is a nice backyard area with a couple benches overlooking the river. We went back there to wait for our table since it’s a little...tight inside. We were promptly asked to leave because that section was “closed”. The grassy area with benches and a scenic view was closed???? This wasn’t an area with tables for seating. No explanation from the guy that threw us out of that area. Fast forward 45 minutes…..lo and behold our waiter is the same guy that tossed us out of the scenic area. I bit my tongue and didn’t say anything about earlier. The guy was just rude and arrogant all night long. The food was marginal at best. Service sucked. Too bad because it’s a really cool place in a great spot.More

Excellent meal. This is the place for comfort food and cool atmosphere. Many traditional Irish options on the menu plus more traditional choices such as burgers, chicken, steak, etc. The beef stew was fantastic. Prices were reasonable. The place is decorated in a very eclectic...style with a nice little bar area as well. One of the best options in North Conway in my opinion.More

Never really had a long wait except on the weekends. Even on Friday or Saturday the wait is not to long provided you arrive by 5:30.
