Had breakfast there this morning. We preferred to sit outside. Big problem, the smokers can sit anywhere outside and no arrangement is made for non-smokers outside. What a disappointment. Spoke to the manager and she was not accommodating at all. Will not visit the place...again.More

On Saturday morning we decided to take a drive to the West coast to have breakfast at the Weskus Spens padstal. We were a group of 4. I was there in 2018 and was quite impressed with the breakfast buffet that hey offered then. When...we came there I immediately noticed that the place looked different and after asking one of the waiters she said that it was under new management. We sat at the tables outside. It was clear that the main aim was to make money. Sanitizer at the door as u came in but none at the tables. My brother in law preferred the breakfast of R90 and the three of us ordered the buffet breakfast. What a disappointment... the variety was very limited. The bacon was more fat than having meat. Seeing that they weigh the food u paid for things that was not edible. One slice of toast. Not very appetizing and very overpriced for a piece of sausage, one slice of bread, some mushrooms and onions. The service was ok but the food (breakfast) was very unappetizing and overpriced. Spur or even Wimpy gives u a better plate for the same amount or even less. They have expanded their nursery since we were last there, but I would definitely not go there again. I was interested in buying( local name(als) but when I touched the leaves I saw some lice on it. So it was not advisable to buy it.More

The Weskus Spens Padstal is a good stop off with decent food. Pies aren’t bad and the baked goods are nice. Shop overall sells various options although could be more made of this.

And the little milk bottles that accompany your coffee are unique. Toasted Sandwiches made without a sandwich maker and with the most delicious bread. A small roadside establishment offering some really old items for sale as well as the regular home made foods. Friendly and...helpful staff but became slightly full as lunchtime approachedMore

Given that Vredenburg is a very small town, one doesn't expect any haute cuisine here, but this was by any viewpoint a disappointment. The menu was extremely limited (only one thing appealed to me - a rather dry babotie). My guests liked the tripe, and...it seems that the French toast was OK, but REALLY? in a restaurant rated as the BEST in the area. ? I don't think we will be back there.More

Little house look with basic farmy furnishing. Nice and quiet establishment with a lot of home made products. Real SA farm food made with no frills, but packed with flavours that makes you miss your mom. I had the farm breakfast, a huge plate of...food that include a beautiful piece of boerewors and toasted home made bread. Best food for miles around! Clean bathrooms and very good service done in the most respectful manner. I will definitely stop there again.More

Stopped by Monday lunch for a snack and picked up last loaf of their legendary farm bread, Namibian biltong, best pepper steak pie of all time, marmalade and an assortment of enamel cups. A fine drive home. Well worth the 1hr 10 from Cape Town...for a brunch or road trip to Paternoster to skellem kreef.More
