For the cost of the food here, I would expect perfection. We came with friends and my husband and I ordered (between the two of us), lobster bisque (small portion but excellent), crab cakes (honestly, pretty lousy), foie gras (excellent, generous portion), wedge salad (nothing special) and scallops (again a small portion but excellent)
The bill came to nearly $100/person: our friends donated a bottle of their own wine ($30 corkage). I guess for me, spending that much would entail somewhat larger portions and no lousy food whatsoever.
As others have noted, the service was on the slow side but I attributed that to their making each dish to order and accumulating everything to serve each course to each person simultaneously.

This was the most unexpected hidden gem find of our annual Tahoe trip. Located at the back of a small strip mall/office complex, this restaurant is a must visit. A tremendous value four course menu has so many tremendous and delicious options all beautifully prepared. You will not leave hungry at all. Quaint with a nice wine selection, excellent personal service, and even a visit to the table from the chef. Be sure to get reservations as the tables are few and they allow diners to enjoy a very relaxed and truly French service experience. One of the course selections is dessert vs. cheese. We all went with the dessert and it was unbelievable. Thank you Le Bistro for a fantastic evening with friends.

This intimate bistro is located across the street from the Hyatt Regency, just before Lakeshore Drive. Ambiance is good for a quiet or even romantic dinner. Service was appropriately friendly and attentive. Wine list is surprisingly large for a small place and doesn’t appear terribly over priced at a 2x markup. There are decent by the glass choices.
We were started with a complimentary amuse bouche and artisan bread basket. Both were tasty. Appetizers are almost all $16 and there is an interesting variety. For entrees, we had salmon, veal chop special, and an always hard to find cocquille St. Jacques. All were excellently prepared and plated. Entrees average $45.
All considered, Le Bistro is one of those neighborhood gems that easily warrants a return visit next time we are in Tahoe.

I planned on proposing to my girlfriend locally and was looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate the special occasion. I made reservations at Le Bistro Tahoe at 7:30 pm on 08/09/2024.
The proposal went faster than I expected, so we arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 p.m. We had some trouble finding it, as it is a bit off the road. We eventually made our way to the outside seating area and explained to a man that we had a 7:30 reservation and wanted to see if we could be seated early. He agreed and took us through what I now know was the back door. We were sat and immediately given two glasses of water.
Still a bit high on the fact that we had just engaged, we sat and enjoyed conversation for a few minutes, eventually looking at each other and stating how hungry we were.
At 7:30, we still hadn't been brought a menu or asked if we wanted anything to drink, so we asked each other whether to leave. Right around this time, we were brought an amuse-bouche, which calmed us down; we decided to stay. However, at this same time, we noticed two tables were sat directly next to us; they were brought menus and had drink orders taken immediately.
After 40 minutes of sitting and waiting for a menu and a drink, we had had enough. At 7:40 p.m., we decided to get up and leave. I have never done this at a restaurant before. I felt bad for eating the complimentary appetizer and leaving, but after 40 minutes, it was pretty clear that we had obviously done something to offend the staff and were not wanted there.
I worked in restaurants faor ten years, and I understand that reservations are taken for a reason; there is only so much capacity that the kitchen can handle. If the restaurant takes reservations, it typically helps space out the guests and ensures the staff can handle the volume. But dropping a menu and taking a drink order takes very little effort. Completely ignoring a table for 40 minutes is rude and unacceptable in customer service.
Honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. They tried their best to ruin a very special night.
There are many dining options in the Tahoe area. I suggest you choose anything other than Tahoe Le Bistro, or you might eat leftovers on your engagement night like we did.

Absolutely outstanding in every aspect. The food is served on hot plates, and is delicious! We enjoyed it so much we went back the following night, had different dishes and were not disappointed in anything. The staff were friendly and not intrusive. The ambience is lovely, French bistro vibes. The chef was wonderful, comes out to the tables and is very knowledgeable about wines. The wine list is truly excellent. Very highly recommended. Our best food experience in our week in Lake Tahoe.

We'd heard this long time French favorite in town had made some menu changes and added "a la carte". It works! The staff is welcoming & very attentive, the ambiance is warm & inviting and offers a very good wine list.
Starters & Salads: Baked Escargots were tender in a light garlic/shallot butter. The Bleu Cheese Wedge w/pickled onions & 1 bacon wrapped date
(would prefer more familiar sprinkle of bacon pieces) has a lovely dressing but a lot of white iceberg lettuce. Unfortunately, for the Caesar Salad we said "no anchovies" (thinking anchovy strips on top) and it arrived undressed. Entre's: Rack of Lamb w/bed of Lentils & prepared med. rare was perfect. Unfortunately, the Duck Confit was dried out, otherwise the lovely mandarin orange sauce would have been a perfect compliment.

Fabulous dinner for two couples sharing May anniversaries! Our party of four enjoyed the amazing lobster bisque, Caesar salad with white anchovies, duck (both the breast and confit) and St. Jacques scallops - all prepared perfectly. Highlight this evening was the Grand Marnier Soufflés specially prepared by the Chef (advance request), among the best we have had, and we have had many Gr Marnier soufflés!
Highly recommend Le Bistro. Service was great including the wine recommendation. Food was wonderful. Worth the splurge.

We had a great evening at LeBistro tonight. Even though we live here in Incline, it’s been awhile since our last visit, and we were really impressed with the food, service and ambiance. If you have a special event to celebrate or just want a really superb meal, give it a try!
We started with lobster bisque (really exceptional flavor and lots of lobster!) and the New Brunswick oysters (very fresh and sweet). Then we went to the crisps and Ahi-poppy seed appetizer (superb) and the Caesar and arugula salads. The Ceasar was really exceptional, complete with a white anchovy. The arugula had a poopy seed cream dressing which was good as well, but not as over the top. Then we had Sea Bass - the presentation (with potatoes, asparagus and a carrot and parsnip) was a work of art, and the flavors and cooking matched.
Service was great as well.

We had a 6:30 reservation. We were 1 of 3 tables in the restaurant. Everything started off great. We had our wine and then appetizers. Our salads took over an hour. We sat and watched other tables come and go. We asked our server(who was great) where our food was. He said a couple more minutes. At 9pm we asked again. He said 2 more minutes. The restaurant had filled and emptied and now we were 1 of 3 tables again. Our food arrived at 9:04 pm. A gentlemen came through a door from behind the bar and said; "I hear you had to wait a couple of minutes ". I responded, "2 1/2 hours". He basically shrugged and said enjoy your meal and walked away. The ribeye looked like a filet. We were told it absolutely was a ribeye .Our pheasant breast with "extra truffle" looked and tasted like chicken, not pheasant. There was no scent of black truffle or taste. When our bill arrived the server said they had removed one of the bottles of wine. We were told they were shorthanded, if that is the case don't accept so many reservations. Also they were able to take care of the other tables so that didn't make sense. With a bill over$400 we expect better. Again, server was great but no apology ever for the amount of time it took. Just excuses.

My husband and I went to Le Bistro for our 30th wedding anniversary. There were 3 other tables in the dining room (total of 10 people including ourselves) and 2 tables of 2 people outside. We didn't order anything that would take a long time to prepare, but it took 2 1/2 hours to get our entrees! After about 2 hours we were offered free drinks, which we declined. Other tables in the dining room were brought the wrong dishes, and one table never did get their appetizers. After eating our entrees, we asked for the dessert to go and the check. This took over 20 minutes. While we were waiting for the desserts & check, the chef came out to the dining room (2nd time), he spoke to each of the other 3 tables & completely ignored us (we hadn't complained or indicated our displeasure - we were still trying to have a happy anniversary dinner). We felt very slighted and insulted that the chef spoke to all 3 other tables in the dining room and ignored us (we were in the middle of the other 3 tables, so it's not like he didn't see us). The meal took 3 hours in total. The waitress did comp our drinks (we each had one), but even as the chef talked to the other tables, he never once apologized to anyone for the long wait. The food was good when it finally came, but we would not eat here again. $40 for a filet mignon that took 2 1/2 hours to arrive is unacceptable.

A very relaxing experience food and service were good. Wine prices are very reasonable and the selection is very large. Excellent seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras. Rack of Lamb was very flavorful but we had asked for it to be medium rare and it was well done and the presentation was very busy.

This is the best food in incline. We've been here 4 times and plan on coming back. We get the tasting menu, which is like 5 courses for $70 which is a great price point considering the quality and portion size. We always leave stuffed. Deducted 1 star because although the servers are kind, sometimes they are a little neglectful and take a while.

1st time to this timeless country style French restaurant. A 5 course $70 menu is available, but we chose individual items. There is a variety of starters and salads that include escargot and foie gras. A fine lobster bisque soup. Started with large crab cake appetizers which had ample crab and a delicate flavor. The Caesar salad with fresh anchoivies has crisp Romaine leaves. The lamb loin was very tender and flavorful. Halibut was thick, tender, and had a fine mild flavor. Plenty of options for vegetarian or vegan. Dessert was a taster plate of 4 items: lemon meringue tart (fabulous!!), creme brulee, cheesecake, and a maccaroon. Ample wine list with a full bar. Seating was either inside or outside with social distancing protocols being followed. Worthy of a "nice" dinner out!

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Le Bistro in 2012, and we came back to celebrate our anniversary and we are so glad we did.
It's a small little place in the back of a strip mall, and the decor looks just the same as it did last time - very homey, very French, like you are at your favorite Aunt's home in Paris, if you favorite Aunt is an amazing chef!
They have an extensive menu that you can order a la carte or get five courses. We splurged and got the five courses and every one was incredible. We had to take a picture of the lobster bisque en croute, it tasted as good as it looked. We also had the lamb loin, the ahi Napoleon, seared foie gras and coquilles st jacques. They have a great wine list with plenty of local and international selections, not just French, and we chose a lovely Châteauneuf-du-Pape that was delicious.
They have a few very cute outside tables with blankets but it was too chilly for us so we stayed inside. It's definitely worth a visit for a special occasion or any time you want great French food.

The first food I will praise is the home made bread. Crispy crust and soft inside makes a delicious piece of bread while having a glass of wine. The halibut was thick and perfectly prepared. The appetizer and the salad were both delicious as well. Make this part of your trip to Incline!
