We were fortunate to stop on a beautiful day with warm temperatures. The outside seating was comfortable with nice views, and the service was attentive and friendly. We both had hot dogs - one with green chili, the other with nacho cheese; both were very, very good. The shoestring fries were crisp and hot. Overall a great stop for lunch!

Our last full day visiting my daughter in Thompson, she had to work but my son, wife and I needed some lunch. My daughter said she hadn't made it to Big Eddy's yet, but she's heard good things about it. So, we decided to check it out.
The first thing I noticed is that if you sit in the first room you enter from outside, you have a great view of the lake. We sat right by the window and really enjoyed watching the geese and just the beautiful scenery in general.
The menu is reasonably sized with a good variety but not so many choices that it's overwhelming.
I had the fried cod with onion rings both were excellent. The cod was white as could be, firm and freshly fried. And the onion rings were beer battered and cooked to order. My son had the chicken strips and onion rings and thought both were very good. My wife had the BLT. For some time now, that has been her standard order if the place we're at has it. And she's pretty picky and slow to praise. But she absolutely loved the BLT here. She said it was one of the best she could remember having. I was surprised because she's usually pretty low key and this was unusual for her. So, it must have been REALLY good.
Without drinks and before tip, the average was ~$16/person. That seems to be pretty much the average for all the places in the area and this was one of the best meals we had on this trip.
Definitely recommend trying Big Eddy's for a meal, a drink, a nice view or all three.

This was our second visit to Big Eddy’s, the first was a few years ago, we met my sister( who lived in Thompson Falls at the time) for lunch. Great food then even better food this time. They have a great menu and a friendly staff. Excellent service in a cozy dining room, right above the lake. If you’re ever in the area it should be on your list for lunch or dinner, you will love it!

This has to absolutely be the worst meal I have ever had. Ordered their steak sandwich which they were out of. So I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger. It was rancid. I took the first bit and got mostly bun then second bite it was a terrible taste Like rancid grease. I literally ( a first ever for me) spit it into my napkin. I pulled a piece of the hamburger and showed my husband. It was black and ver dense. Did not look like beef at all. Uggg. My husband's fish and chips were so greasy the coated his basket. This has got to be the worst ever. Service wasn't great either. 45$ wasted. I'd advice se to ti eat here.

For some reason, the area below beside the river was closed so we ate at one of the 7 tables inside. Staff was very friendly and helpful but the food was average at best. Really a small place with little personality.

Not a whole lot of choices in this town. Fortunately, Big Eddy’s checks most of the boxes. Nice outdoor patio out back overlooking the river. Decent draft beer selection, with a manageable concise menu with something for everyone. Burgers are filling, hot dogs a little skimpy, staff efficient. Great place to end the day.

We have ten beers on tap -including many from Montana breweries. The hotdogs are a 1/4 pound all beef dogs that we deep fry - and serve simply - with different options of toppings from the simple - onion, pickle, mustard and ketchup -- to smothered with green or red chili and topped with cheddar cheese. Thank you for coming to Big Eddy's - we appreciate the business.

Not many choices in Thompson Falls, but this spot is interesting and fun. The menu is not extensive but what they have is good. Nice setting and good service round out a decent overall experience. It can be a little warm inside so dine outside and enjoy the view.

Had some dinner and drinks. Food was alright. Menu has shrunk since last time we were there. A lot of bar food. Hotdogs, burgers, kid foods. The bill was really pricey for what we got. The atmosphere and view is nice.

We normally have bar seating (which the state won't allow us to sit people) and a small inside dining room - but with COVID and good weather we have kept most seating outside. We have deck heaters for cooler evenings. Our food includes homemade green chili and red chili, slow roasted beef french dip sandwiches, hamburgers, GF shoestring french fries, Caesar and garden salad...and more. What makes Big Eddy's special is that we are still open and employ 13 people - even in these uncertain times.Thank you so much for coming by and eating with us on the Deck.

We picked it because it seemed to be one of the few places open. The food was okay. Don't get the roast beef sandwich dip or their "chicken pots"! Stick with the quesadillas or a basic hamburger.

We are happy we could be open to serve you, when most other restaurants have closed due to lack of staff or they simply couldn't stay open after being forced to close for two months. True, with COVID we have cut back on menu options. With COVID suppliers have cut back on what is getting supplied. Thanks for your input. Just in case others wonder, the Roast Dip sandwich is a slow roasted beef roast, shredded - with garlic aioli and swiss cheese on a ciabatta bun served with au jus and a side of shoestring French fries. The chicken boats are grilled chicken breasts with a sauce of choice, topped with mozzarella and parmesan - broiled, served with a garden salad. Stay safe and healthy.

We were at Big Eddy's in 2015 on the way home from a trip. On a whim we decided to stop at here for lunch which was fabulous! So it should not come as a surprise that we came back again this year, during our weekend stay in Thompson Falls. Last time I had the Black & Bleu sandwich which is the best Black & Bleu I've ever had, but this time I decided to branch out and try something new so I had the Dijon Mustard Chicken and it was to die for delicious! Tender meat, delectable sauce; I'm telling you, you just can't get a lousy meal here.
