Prime rib and French dip sandwiches were excellent. Waitress was friendly and attentive. One of our favorite eateries during our 15 day road trip. DO stop here - it is worth it !

Tonight Ed and Rhonda put out a special occasion feast fit for kings. I have never eaten better King Crab, and believe me I've eaten plenty all around the country. We had soup, salad, wonderful cheese filled breadsticks, 3 appetizers, the crab with potatoes and veggies, garlic bread and dessert. I can hardly move!!!
Treat yourself to some of the best food in Montana, in a small town bar and grill.

We were hungry and tired, having driven from Missoula on the the way to Couer d'Alene.
There is, well, not a lot of anything other than great views and the highway.
We used our GPS to search for a restaurant as we approached Saltese (population 15, by the way) and found this place. We then quickly checked online reviews (some of which were hilarious!) and thought...why not?
The BEST service!
Great prices (try the Scottish Ale made in Montana.)
Broasted chicken (our favorite) with green beans, mashed potatoes, and a roll (8.95.)
This place has an EXTENSIVE bar, an EXTENSIVE menu (not bar food, but restaurant food,) and yes, it is a little hard to find but truly just adjacent to the interstate.
Go.
You will NOT be disappointed.
By the way, we probably met all 15 residents of Saltese when we ate here.

This place was closed for years and should have stayed closed. Crazy Drunks yelling outside, idiots racing up and down the road, and i observed what appeared to be two people "dopers" smoking a marijuana pipe in the front parking lot!! We left and did not stay!

On the road again when the little town bug bites so we stoped. Nice little town to stop and stretch your legs. This is a small place with great eats. Stop in once and you'll get the small town bug also. Some of the best come from small home cooked meals that you can't get elsewhere. And everything was fresh unlike one stop we made where even the Pepsi and Mountain Dew where outdated in their coolers.... lol... store, pawn shop combined... same town.. lol. But this one is good.
Enjoy

This is a nice friendly place to stop and have a few cocktails and appetizers. The staff is nice and they also have games of luck. I’m just not lucky today.
