Dropped in here for breakfast on our way to the western UP and again after staying a few days in Munising! Ordered the sweet potato quinoa burger on my second visit…it was amazing! One of the best burgers (vegan or not) that I’ve ever had....Staff was friendly and the coffee delicious. If you are a book hound, this is the place for you!More

Coffee Shop Atmosphere

Books to browse or buy on shelves lining the walls. I bought one. A choice of long, short, rectangular, square, round, and high and low tables tucked into a corner away from the crowd or at the front window in full view of the passers-by...on the street. Artwork on the walls. The quiet buzz of conversation. A sense of quiet busyness as servers bring drinks and food to tables. The aroma of brewing coffee. When I think coffee shop, this is what comes to mind. I wish my hometown had one like this. I had a delicious mocha and a packaged muffin. My slight complaint: needs a better selection of pastries.More

Good food and quaint ambiance

Gluten free and vegan options! We had the sweet potato quinoa burger which was tasty and satisfying. Ambiance is lively and adorable.

A very welcoming place

Their coffee is wonderful, and the atmosphere here is even better. The muffins were great too. My husband and I had different roasts and we liked them both. They have a big variety of coffees ready so we didn't even get specialty drinks, just regular...coffees. They were great!More

Awesome!

This little cafe has incredible breakfast sandwiches that are very filling! The ice cream and the pre-packed sandwich lunches are also wonderful. Very friendly service. It’s great to support local businesses wherever we visit. The bookstore has a great selection of U.P. books for young...and old alike! Highly recommend!More

bucket list trip

We had lunch here and a late night shake after boat cruise... Sandwiches were good and it was interesting place, got some local souvenirs ( wood burr from local artist) ... All the staff is working hard, they were competent, friendly and polite even when...we didn't realize that they wanted to close ( they closed at 8 and we thought it was 10:00 ... Sorry about that... We highly recommend this establishment !!More

Fantastic ice cream and great sandwiches

My son raved about this place, and he was right! The ice cream was the best I have ever had. We also got sandwiches and they were excellent too. There were long lines and a wait for the food because there were so many people...there, but it was worth it.More

great food and drinks but rude service

The cashier at the registar was so rude. The place is very busy and that was ok, but trying to get an explanation of how to get a seat, food and drinks was not clear. When asked questions he became rude and sarcastic. Its's too...bad that this guy is your first point of contact for this quaint little place with good food and drinks.More
