A quaint little place on the way to Bourkes Luck it is in the middle of nowhere! Off the road, across the river( dirt road), along a trail for a few hundred meters, the restaurant is next to the river. We didn't stop for a...More

Potluck Boskombuis is a well hidden gem on the R532 road from Graskop, just before Bourke's Luck Potholes. We were curious after reading other Tripadvisor reviews. What a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant which can provide such a well cooked meal without electricity! There...More

There isn't much seating, and it is a pretty popular place so may have a bit of a wait. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere can't be beat--outdoors (even the kitchen), next to the river, I'd definitely recommend this as a stop if you...More

Use this place as a break on your tour on The Panorama Route and make sure to have some hours. The restaurant right on the riverbank is an amazing place with traditional South African food at very reasonable prices. The combination of an unique setting...More

Always looking for excuses to visit. An unforgetable experience The environment is tranquil next to the Blyde River and the food and drinks is traditional South Africa. If you ever are in the vicinity pay a visit. You always remember that experience.

What a great experience everytime. Sitting on wooden stumps next to the Treur River eating great South African Cuisine. Most pleasant staff. Most interesting Ladies/Gents. Check it out.

This restaurant is so good, quirky, off road, fabulous views, good local food. I had the vegetarian bake. Very tasty and great cake and coffee to finish. Only house wine but at 25 rand per glass, what more could you want!

Description
The word is out on the town and this little "Boskombuis" is creating wonders and just doing something completely different. Welcomed at the humble boma entrance you are escorted into an unforgettable traditional South African dining experience combined with the most splendid views and lazy, no-rush ambiance. Tucked right up against a gigantic round boulder, is a log fire where most of the food is prepared. To the front, pulling the children with an unseen magnetism, is the Treur river, with its crystal clear water, gently flowing a mere stone's throw away from the dining area. The menu itself is short and to the point, with open flame grilled steaks taking the centre stage. Apparently local "potjie" specialities are prepared over weekends. You need to plan a little in advance, the weather can change easily in this part of the world...do take some warm clothes or a blanket. Potluck Boskombuis has no credit card facilities or mobile phone coverage, take enough cash to cater for a blissful outdoor experience that will leave everlasting memories and make one want to visit again and again....
