The best place to stop and have lunch in the Lowveld. Amazing spot on the river and the food is incredibly well cooked and delicious! Fire cooked local food - awesome! One of our favourite spots, always take visiting friends and family here!

What an amazing find with authentic South African cooking by wood-fire. Not much vegetarian options but the pap & vegetable gravy is still really delicious. The setting blends into nature right alongside the river. Love to pop by when visiting the Three Rondawels.

Loved this place. Set on the side of a river in the middle of nowhere we had a cold beer and a "PotLuck" African lunch. There is a small menu so some choices for you. We had Chicken curry and Pap which was delicious, served up nice and hot in a tin plate and piled high! Negoiated my way around... More

You really can't beat the location. Drive down the short dirt road, over the old bridge and find sitting right on the riverbank, listening to the rippling water pass by. Food is produced in what is essentially a camp kitchen. No electricity, just a wood-burning stove and several braais going. The menu is traditional South African fare. I wouldn't say... More

Nice setting out of the way. Limited menu and be prepared to wait. Can get cold here so take some warm clothes.

A hidden find, with traditional meals all served from a fire, no electricity used, by a river very peaceful

A hidden treasure for lunch with a great view and location at the Treur River and superb traditional South African dishes cooked on a fire. On the road from the Potholes to Graskop, Worth a drive. Getting populair as the tables were pretty crowded.

What a experience when we visited the venue, the view is spectacular and the food is to die for as we noticed all catering is done on traditional fire with no modern technology nearby..

Wonderfully isolated beside a river. But no boboetie no venison stew. We had the other meat stew. Rubbery!

We have tried 3 Times now to go visit The Boskombuis but each time we have left disappointed. Last year when we visited Graskop we drove out to Boskombuis only to find that they were closed, We went back the next day only to find out that they only accept cash so unfortunately we had to leave again. This time... More

The word is out on the town and this little "Boskombuis" is creating wonders and just doing something completely different. Welcomed at the humble boma entrance you are escorted into an unforgettable traditional South African dining experience combined with the most splendid views and lazy, no-rush ambiance. Tucked right up against a gigantic round boulder, is a log fire where most of the food is prepared. To the front, pulling the children with an unseen magnetism, is the Treur river, with its crystal clear water, gently flowing a mere stone's throw away from the dining area. The menu itself is short and to the point, with open flame grilled steaks taking the centre stage. Apparently local "potjie" specialities are prepared over weekends. You need to plan a little in advance, the weather can change easily in this part of the world...do take some warm clothes or a blanket. Potluck Boskombuis has no credit card facilities or mobile phone coverage, take enough cash to cater for a blissful outdoor experience that will leave everlasting memories and make one want to visit again and again....
