My first time in my 50 years on this planet visiting Michigan. Visiting a very close friend of mine, I told her I want to visit local family operated restaurants and we came here for brunch. I ordered the belly buster for breakfast/lunch and it...did not disappoint at all! The hashbrowns were so good the ham was to die for. I would take a picture and provide it to you but it looks like two dogs were fighting over my plate lol. I butchered my plate. On second thought I’ll probably put a picture anyway LOL Service was amazing- Matthew is such a friendly guy!!!! If you live in the area you are lucky if you were passing through you definitely need to stop here for a delicious satisfying meal.More

This is our go to breakfast joint. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. Biscuits and Gravy is amazing.

I've been here twice with a small family group for breakfast. The food both times was decent - almost good, certainly not great, but not really bad. On this second visit we were told we needed a reservation (really? On a Wednesday morning at 10...am??). But, they finally put some tables together for our huge group of 7. The server acted bothered from the time we sat down, and when I asked for a coffee refill after having been there for 30 minutes, was just plain rude. 20 minutes later we asked for another refill, and her attitude hadn't changed. So, a decent breakfast combined with bad service equals we won't be going back. Too bad, as this could be a very nice restaurant in a small town.More

We seated ourselves and just got the soup and salad bar. The bean soup tasted like it was cooked in pure sugar and the fruit in the salad bar tasted like it was spoiled. The waitress was coughing into her hand most of the time...that we were seated there. I paid quite a bit for the food and did not have much of a selection.More

Passing through and found this place on main street downtown. Had many different eating spaces. Service was very good. Breakfast were good, hot and tasty when served. If you get a skillet breakfast, hope you have friends to share it with or at least a...home to take the leftovers. It only had two eggs but the other ingredients made for a huge breakfast for one person traveling. Hated to leave it behind!More

The waitress I had was attentive, and they had real butter for the bake potato, but that was the only thing I would say was good. One waitress was so angry with a customer about a salad, she was swearing at the register area (I...was seated close to that area). She said, oh I guess I shouldn't be swearing. No, you should not be acting that way in front of the costumers. So right off the first thing, I thought --if I have a problem with my food -I saw that the help will have a hissy fit if I say anything about it! I ordered the chicken with onions, mushrooms, and cheese over it. A baked potato, rice and broccoli. The chicken was to be grilled with onions and mushrooms and then cheese covering all of it. The cheese was not real cheese, sliced cheese. I did not know that or I would have asked for no cheese. (they should say it is processed cheese in the menu-not healthy being processed.). So I had to push that all aside -which meant the onions and mushrooms were all in with the melting cheese so I did not get any of those to eat. No flavor -chicken had no flavor --it had not even been seasoned a little. Just a little salt as it cooked would have made a big difference. Very bland tasting. The broccoli was mush, very over cooked. No seasoning. It had no flavor at all. tasted like it had been floating in water all day long. Lost the broccoli taste completely! The bake potato was the only thing that was really ok to eat. The rice was not bad. Just a sprinkle of salt on that made a huge difference. Really folks-season your food before you cook it, it takes less seasoning that way. AND it makes your food taste better! ANY chef will tell you that! If it would have been only one of my items that was not right, then I would not be giving such a bad review. But when all of the items are not ok. (and yes I told the waitress about the taste of the food, that it was not seasoned or anything, and tasted very bland. Nothing else was offered.) I would not eat here again if I was in the area. The (I assume) manager came down from upstairs while I was there, and he appeared grouchy. Never checked on customers, nothing. Just made some change for his employees and then stomped off back up stairs. The one positive thing: they had real butter at least.More

This place is a small town restaurant that beats big city high end restaurants! We were immediately greeted and served our drinks. Our server was exceptionally friendly and prompt when taking ans serving our orders. She stayed on top of keeping our drinks filled also....The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food was the best part! It was delicious!More

We were welcomed and led to a table promptly. Service was quick and efficient. We had a variety of dishes and all were well prepared. The rhubarb pie was especially good. The atmosphere was pleasant; employees were friendly with customers and one another.

Very poor service. We had to ask "Lisa" twice to wipe off our table. After we ordered, our waitress, "Lisa" threw out food at us. She neglected to deliver our side order. It took 15 minutes (far too long) to receive our order. We were...never asked how our food was. We'll never eat here again.More

Stopped into the restaurant because of a recommendation from one of the local shop owners. Stood there 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement that we were there. Decided to go next door to the Charlotte Brewery and had a great meal.
