A friend and I came to Plymouth from the outer Cape for a performance at Plymouth Memorial Hall. Traveling for 2+ hours to get to the performance venue, left us no time (nor desire) to eat at home. Not knowing the area very well, I...did a google search of "restaurants in the area" - So many wonderful looking establishments with seeming great menus. My date is a little picky, and certainly is not fond of Seafood which eliminated so many options. I therefore refined my search to "Italian restaurants in the area". After carefully perusing each menu, I made a decision that Mamma Mia's would be just right. Although there is an online vehicle for making a reservation - I chose to call the restaurant to secure my seats with a live person. I was concerned that we might arrive late (or early) and wanted to have a clear understanding with the booker. Right from the get go - my experience was super positive. The person with whom I spoke on the phone was not only professional, but also understanding of my concern, and super helpful in making the reservation and assuaging my worry. So - we arrive for dinner (made it on time) - it was the evening of MANY simultaneous events in Plymouth. Lighting of a holiday tree, some kind of running road race and of course, the event at the "Hall". The restaurant was FULL! this made me even more grateful for the phone call and kind help of the restaurant's representative. We were quickly seated, then greeted by a very sweet server Nathalie (I believe), and proceeded to make food selections. Nathalie was very patient - even on a super busy night - with my high maintenance idiosyncratic requests. Service was quick and attentive, yet not overbearing nor fumbling. And now for the food experience. I had a quick appetizer - the Lobster and Seafood Stuffed Quahog, a (not so) small house salad, and a personal favorite (and my standard to "judge" the integrity of an Italian restaurant). Well - up to this point - I have been a bit effusive and verbose, well now - I'm gonna cut straight to the chase. PHENOMENAL! This food was beyond my belief. I LOVED the Quoahog, The salad was perfect, and the spaghetti and meatballs - well... it's 9 am (the next morning) as I pen this review, and - - - my leftovers have finally come to full temperature - and I'm ready for round 2. Note: I actually put this leftover spaghetti and meatballs in a pan on the stove to reheat - because - I thought this food (as we as I) deserved the best possibly quality return visit. I am ready to eat now, so this review will come to a quick end. My biggest disappointment is that I live 2 hours from this amazing establishment, and can't repeat this experience more frequently. I have already told two friends about this place ad nauseam to them, i''m sure. I don't take pictures in restaurants of food or the surroundings because I like to be more present with whomever I am with, that fact does not reflect on my extraordinary satisfaction with Mamma Mia's food and operation. I can't wait for when I can return, but more so - I can't wait to consume my breakfast! Spaghetti & Meatballs, take 2 - here I come!More

Worst lasagna i I ever had. A few layers of pasta with tomato sauce, and fairly small portion. Wife's chicken marsala was fair, not great. Grandson's cheese ravioli was fair, very runny tomato sauce. All overpriced, nearby pizza looked good, we should have ordered pizza.

Great location. They were able to seat us quickly. The bar was hopping. Cocktails were okay. The food wasn't my favorite. I had the gnocchi and was so excited because it was highly recommended by our waitress but it was very bland. I was hoping...some fresh parmesan would help but she said they didn't have any. Hubs had the lasagna and he said it also was missing something. Daughter had a flatbread that she said was fine. So the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't necessarily something I need to eat again.More

We dropped in on this place for lunch as we were passing through Plymouth. Made to feel very welcome and we had a great meal. I had home made lasagna and my husband had the chicken and broccoli penne and we were both happy. The...restaurant is approached by stairs up the outside of the building and so this means that if you get a window seat the views are amazing. It was quite full and seemed to be locals eating there so that is always a good sign.More

We go here often and are never disappointed. There’s a lovely view of the waterfront, & the food is great. The meat sauce is sweet, & the pasta is perfectly cooked. The Martinis are lovely and boozy. Lovely lunch.

A bit loud and close quarters, but good food, great service, and decent prices. It was already dark when we visited for dinner, but I imagine the view of the bay is nice, too. Would definitely recommend

The margarita flatbread was excellent. Hubby had an Italian sun it was not toasted and had pickles. Never encountered this before. Somehow after being seated we were invisible. Although several waitstaff walked past when we had our menus folded on the table no one stopped...to see if we had ordered even drinks. Finally had to flag someone down to ask. Waitress very nice but after food arrived we didn’t see her. Had to ask for check. Food good service subparMore

Worst meal I ever had! Always a fan and supporter. No more! You seasoned staff are great. Your new managers are inferior and your claim to fame, homemade food is a joke.

This lovely little Italian eatery sits right on the Plymoth shore, with ample public paid parking just adjacent. The place was bustling on a sunny, summer, Saturday afternoon but the mood was cheerful and the staff extremely pleasant. There was a small amount of outdoor...dining available on the upstairs front deck however, we chose the air-conditioned indoors. The menu had a little something for everyone with lunch time Portions and prices available. The kids started with garlic bread, crusty Italian bread with lots of butter and garlic. They also both chose the fettuccine Alfredo, one with veal— The sauce was creamy, smooth and cheesy but still light enough not to overwhelm. The mildly breaded veal was tender and tasty. I myself chose the Caprese Panini which was outstanding— crispy edged, Panini pressed with thin strips of prosciutto, fresh Bufala Mozzarella, Basil and red tomato with just a touch of balsamic vinegar. Yum. The fries on the side were perfectly crisped and lightly salted. The red sangria was also much appreciated as it was not too watered down by soda water, and had perfectly proportioned wine and fruit. Dylan our server was outstanding.More

The worst experience ever. I spent $114.75 at Mamma Mia. A few days later, I checked my bank account and compared it with the receipt I had. I found out that Mamma Mia charged me $219.50, almost twice. I reached out to them, but they...didn’t take an active attitude to deal with this issue. It was not one or two dollars but more than 100 dollars. Everyone makes mistakes. I understand it. But, the problem is they didn’t deal with their mistake quickly as if they charged extra dollars intentionally. If it was an unintentional mistake, they should have apologized first and managed this issue as quickly and actively as possible instead of making me wait and call them again. My family went to the U.S for my graduation ceremony. None of them can speak English. My family felt like the restaurant fooled us though I finally got a refund for the extra $104.75. I encourage people who plan to visit this restaurant to reconsider their visit. My family was disappointed at how some U.S people see us as pushovers.More

Our first stop when we got to Plymouth for a late lunch. We ordered a small house special pizza, which fed us for 2 meals. Thin crust with fresh toppings. I probably would have ordered dessert, but noticed we were getting a parking ticket and...that killed my mood. There are no meters on that side, and I didn't realize it was pay to park, ouch. Not the restaurant's fault but a sad welcome to town. So just be warned if you are visiting Plymouth, you have to pay to park before you spend money in town.More
