We had a party of nine for dinner before an 8:00 show at the Spire (a nearby concert venue). Service was excellent, Food was very good. i don't think I heard one complaint. Meals all arrived at the same time which can be challenging with...such a large party. Menu is quite extensive. Bolognese was outstanding as was the Zuppa di Crostaccei (fisherman's stew). Veal dishes were exceptional. About the only issue I had is the place is a bit cramped.More
Tonight was BRUTAL!!! Have been a dozen times before this & it was pretty good, tonight we got caught in no mans land, server was not attentive, took 30 minutes for drinks, an hour for appetizers, asked us twice if we already got our food...& total of 2.5 hours for dinner. Watched a bunch of tables come after us & leave before us. We were told "kitchen was busy" but no one else waited like we did, apparently there was a show that everyone was trying to get to, no one asked if we were going, just ignored us. I am patient but tonight was beyond inexcusable. Not even a glass of wine or a complimentary dessert for our time.More
I guess it's the norm now to spend a lot and get very little. But I expected a better quality of dining at Stregas and got less than we bargained for. slow service, one cold dish that needed an upgrade, and a less than flavorful...pasta puntanesca. in addition, asked to "finish up" quickly due to needing the table....they no doubt overbooked for the amount of waitstaff available (im sorry, but NO ONE should be asked to LEAVE unless they're being unruly!)... poor communication between hostess and waitstaff...sadly, will not be returning to this underwhelming restaurant with the popular reputation.More
Our party of five enjoyed our initial visit to Cafe Strega, Well-prepared Italian cuisine was served in an attractive window-lined room by attentive staff. The menu favors many meat and poultry dishes, with a more limited seafood selection. There were enough seafood and pasta dishes...to satisfy the pescatarians in our party, however. We all left quite happy with our meal, and I can heartily recommend Cafe Strega as a fine selection for a good Italian cuisine meal in Plymouth.More
It's surprising so many people who live in Plymouth don't seem to know about Cafe Strega. It's been there for years - overlooking Brewster Gardens with an atrium dining room. Like other restaurants, prices here have escalated, making this one of the most expensive in...town. (Sorry, but we can't justify paying $16 for a salad. Anywhere.) Strega's reliability is also part of its problem - the place looks and feels dated, the menu is a bit stale, and the ambience - i.e. an endless loop of the same "Volare"-style music - could use a makeover. But the food is still good, and the managers are warm and friendly. Keeping a restaurant up and running with solid standards for so long is a major feat.More
!!!WARNING!!! They sell subpar Italian food for high prices. All dessert, bread, etc is outsourced. They will also take the money that you're trying to tip your server and pocket it after two weeks of hard work. I am having to take them to court...because they refuse to pay me $1100 in tips! DO NOT EAT HERE!More
Atmosphere is nice(although loud), service was ok (a little slow), cocktails were good....Food was awful! Ordered Ceasar but was told out of romaine (on a friday night in August?) CARPACCIO should not be on the menu. Appeared to be medium roast beef clearly not CARPACCIO....ZUPPA DI CROSTACCEI $26.95 was a joke 8 muscles, 3 clams, 3 shrimp, 2 scallops....crostaccei was table bread toasted.. My wife had FUSILLI CON SALSICCIA E BROCCOLI DI RABI. No flavor whatsoever. Having dinned at Strega North End many times, this place simply does not meet expectations. My wife corrected me just now....horrible and paying Boston prices.More
Food was great. Had puttanesca, carbonara, vegetarian dish. Server was really nice. Bread was delicious. Wine menu good.
Italian fare with flair! Excellent food overlooking Brewster Gardens & Plymouth Harbor from on high. Always happy with this dining choice. Highly recommend! Actually going tonight again!
Owner was manning the door and hosting, charming and attentive. We were early for our reservation but he found us a table with a view of the Park. Server was fantastic and friendly as was the support staff. Prices were more than reasonable making our...choices difficult. Calamari and meatballs to start, veal saltimboca was tender and seasoned perfectly, dessert was amazing. Will definately go back.More
OMG people !!!!! FANTASTIC food!!!!!!!!! May I recommend The Short Rib Ravioli!!!!!! You won't be disappointed Desert are freshly made Extensive Wine list Quality drinks
Wonderful Italian food and service. Restaurant easily handled our table for 8. We all enjoyed our meal...lots of fresh pasta, salads and a nice wine list. We will be back!
Ate here on NYE and had a good experience. Arrived and was promptly seated with reservation. I found that the restaurant did a good job not overbooking the restaurant. While staff was busy and the drinks/apps took a little while to be delivered, it wasn’t...overly slow. My wife had the short rib ravioli and I had the chicken Parmesan. Both were flavorful with generous portions. The fudge cake was delicious for dessert. We would return againMore
We took our company out for a holiday celebration and were thrilled with the food and service. Authentic Italian food very reasonable priced. We enjoyed the stuffed mushroom and calamari as an appetizer. Both were outstanding. The entrees were sized well and all served perfectly...cooked. The special filet with mushroom risotto was paired perfectly. We ended our dinner with a homemade cannoli. It was amazing! The service was very professional and our waiter was very educated and offered suggestions. I highly recommend Cafe Strega. We will definitely be back in the summer as the restaurant has beautiful water views.More
