It was a very windy day, but the owners and staff were very helpful. It was great for people with inabilities and very easy to get around and. interpret the menu. Well worth the stop!

We stopped for coffee and chocolate cake. OMW there could not be a better chocolate cake out there. Huge slice of the yummiest moist chocolate cake and served with a Mug of the best moer koffie ever. A place worth visiting. Lots of goodies for...sale and best of all re-visit your childhood with sweeties. Chappies, star and wilsons toffies and so much more. We will be back ❤🌹More
A must stop shop and pub/restaurant on the R355. Friendly, laid back, the perfect atmosphere for the Tankwa. Good, honest food, great service a perfect spot to reax and have a bite
This interesting little oasis in the middle of nowhere had become my stamping ground and a favorite place to bring friends visiting Tankwa. The vegetarian roosterkeok is delish. Five stars for the hospitality. We will be back .. again.
We bought Savannah's, rusks, a Slingsby map of the area (must have for the area) and mosquito candle. Very friendly owners. Food also good.
Very interesting farm stall on the R355. The owners are very friendly. We didn't eat anything but their menu looks mouth watering. The pool in this hot karoo will be very welcoming with a cold beverage in hand.
A definite oasis set on the longest continuous dirt road in South Africa. Acts as bar, shop, tourist office and provides a social haven and collection point the remote farms. Ice cold beers, home made ginger beer, burgers and, remarkably, wifi. Helpful friendly owners.
This farm stall in the middle of no where, friendly owners, friendly staff, great place for a day outing. It's clean, service good food quality great

Sheltered here during a 50 mph sand storm while enjoying a fabulous vegan burger and ice cold beer, I’m not a vegan but don’t miss out on this one, the padstal is not open always so plan so that you don’t miss out, your day...will be brighter and trip much shorter.More
What an extraordinary place! Stopped here for drinks before entering the Tankwa Karoo National Park and had the most amazing afternoon with a range of eccentric people from all walks of life. Absolutely love this pub & can recommend stopping here to get warm. It...was 8 degrees on the day of our visit.More
Must stop in the middle of nowhere! Nothing fancy but great experience. Roosterbrood and tea - very good!
On your way between Ceres and Caledon, you have to stop for having a local coffee break, an unforgotten Afrikaans lunch, a quick repair for your tyre, for feeding your cool box with drinks and organic food and jams. You feel the soul of the...farm and the decadence as an apocalypse... yes the chaos is under control and in style, the energy to recycling old stuff with art is present at each corner. Smiling kitchen and friendly bar give you the kick to discover more about the Karoo.More
Stopped for a couple of drinks and had a lot of fun and good conversation at the bar, even for a Monday afternoon. Well worth a visit
Just when you are at the point of ultimate despair on the dusty, corrugated and unforgiving R355 your worst nightmare appears next to the road - a car that seemed to have nosedived into the Tankwa sand! A second look suggests that here there are...much more available than a somewhat sardonic sense of humor - the quirky Tankwa Padstal and roadside bar. Enough has been said of the good burgers (that also cater for vegan palates) and the eccentric but charming bar. More notice must be taken of the holistic approach to life taken by the Lange families that own this iconic place. The Langes run a business in the harshest of environments maintaining the crucial principles of the sustainable use of resources = electricity generated by the sun and wind; fruit and veggies produced by means of permaculture... not to mention the female puff adders guarding vulnerable sections of their property (Note: a safe distance from the the Padstal!) Enjoy this unique space that not only provides good food and beverages, as well as unusual bric-a-brac in the shop. Above all, this establishment plays a vital and constructive role in the local community providing books for readers of all ages; a venue for social events; the education of children with alcohol fetal syndrome etc. Take the trouble of visiting the Tankwa Padstal on your way to the Tankwa National Park... you will get more than you bargained for!More
