This place may look like a hole in the wall, but the food and service are excellent. The crab, and clams were excellent! The restaurant has a great view toward the water out back.

Fantastic place! We were told by another restaurant to try Claws if we really wanted good Lobster, and they were right! We thought it was fun to order from the “Menu Wall” at the walk-up window. Then take your numbered lobster to the seating area....The food was amazing, and well worth the trip!More

Stopped here on the recommendation of our hotel. I ordered Lobster mac and cheese . A large portion which I couldn't finish (rare for me!). Wife had salmon sandwich. Place was packed yje other two nights we were here.

Claws served the best freshest jumbo sized lobsters during our very first and recent visit to Rockland, Maine. I totally enjoyed and savored the Rockland Dinner- which consisted of adequately sized juiciest sweetest lobster, served with clams, sweet corn on a cob and another enjoyable...coleslaw, also with blueberry biscuit. That great delicious dinner was more than adequate for me, but my husband likewise enjoyed his jumbo sized lobsters. And to make it a memorable visit , we had 3 more extra trips to Claws , ordered similar items and did not disappoint at all. The last day we were there, we came in just when Claws opened, waited for the morning catch to come in. My husband thought he hit the jackpot, when he wanted another jumbo lobster and he got the biggest 4 1/4 lbs of the succulent red crustacean. Great experience and definitely needs to repeated soon. The Claws is well run restaurant with friendly efficient people. Customers come and stay in lines to order and eat in or take out. It is definitely worth the long waits. I vouch for the fresh whole lobsters, you need to try at least once, but 2nd, 3rd lobsters in a weeks time are really fulfilling. Claws , I can attest has better quality, better cooked lobsters than the ones from the lobster festival. We tried the fried calamari, lobster roll, lobster with seafood stuffing, broiled seafood delight of haddock, scallops and shrimps, they were all good, but I will still choose the fresh whole lobsters over the mentioned food. I did not care for the Lobster rangoon, not worth the money. Too small, too little lobster. Again, I would like to applaud the Claws staff, they work hard and they seem to love what they do. Shout out to Kiki, who we can praise as the friendliest, most customer oriented, excellent service skills cashier/staff in our 5 visits this week.In a way, Kiki helped when my husband hit the 4 and a quarter pound lobster jackpot. Very popular and casual seafood restaurant. You can eat on the open porch overlooking the ocean or a covered front patio. Order at the window and a server will bring you your food. The lobster was very good and cooked properly. Price was reasonable and...included corn on the cob and coleslaw. Very clean and comfortable venue.More

I haven't written a review in some time but had too with Claws. We own a summer cottage in the area and now have added them to our places for renters to go. I don't think you will ever find a better fried scallop dinner...(with garlic aioli) in the area. Fries with truffle oil and parmesan, wow. I even had a blueberry gin and tonic! I get confused when I see very low rankings from people and do understand that it happens, but we've been there 5 times this year alone and never had an issue. You can tell that the staff is low and maybe inexperienced as the current trend is, but they all tried and worked hard. Bottom line, it's a 5 for us. If that changes, I will chime back in.More

The best fried clams!!!! We will be heading back for more for sure. Dog friendly patio, pleasant staff - altogether a fine experience.

My first lobster roll!! This is a great place to get some of the local specialties - lots of fried items, lobster items. And, everyone knows it! We had walked by a number of times and there was always a LOOOONG line. We decided to...go at about 11:30 and it was perfect timing. Short line, relatively quick service. There is outdoor seating at the front and the back. Walk up to place order, find your seat and then your food is delivered. The lobster roll (with mayo) was tasty for sure. The mayo was not overpowering. However, very expensive (I guess that is the norm) and a bit cumbersome to eat. I ended up cutting the lobster chunks into smaller pieces and then reassembling the roll so that I was dribbling large chunks of lobster down my shirt.More

Our first meal in Rockland was a disappointment and maybe if we had complained it could have been been remedied. We walked up and ordered the 1/2 pound lobster roll ($40) and blueberry tea ($4). The lobster was a bit mushy and lacked flavor, unlike...other lobster we ate during our stay in the Rockland area. Other food we observed at Claws on plates around us looked quite delicious, such as the fried scallops! Bad day to order the lobster roll I guess.More
