A must try!

We visited in July and again in August. The pier fries are a huge favorite and we bought so many boxes and had our friends do the same. The fries are a thick crinkle cut that are cooked well so they are completely melty in your mouth!!! You can get them with a cup of cheddar cheese sauce. The fries are $7 I believe (I always send my teens to get them lol) and the cheese another $1.50 Pier fries are kind of an iconic OOB treat that you do not want to miss!! @kristens_on_vacation IG

Best fries ever

These are the best fries I've ever had. The owner is a friendly man who works the counter himself. Think of the best fries you've ever eaten,these will beat them hands down. Fresh cut ,fried to order not greasy or soggy.Great value.

Still Crazy (Good) After All These Years!

I lived in OOB for three years back in the early 1990s, and visited this week with my wife. When I lived here I loved going to the "center" on Friday nights for a gyro and Pier Fries... sadly, the gyro food truck is no longer there, but the Pier Fries stand is still alive and kicking. The fries are still fabulous... my only complaint is they only offer white vinegar - IMHO they need to offer malt vinegar, as well. If I still lived in OOB, I'd still be coming here every Friday night, cuz the fries are: Still CRAZY (Good) After All These Years (with a tip of the cap to Paul Simon)!!

OLD ORCHARD BEACH EATS: ICONIC FLAVORS, UNINSPIRED SERVICE

One of the oldest businesses in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, is The Original Pier Fries at 92 years old and established in 1932. It is conveniently located on Old Orchard Street, a stone’s throw away from the beach and attractions. We visited on FRI AUG 2, 2024 and ordered (to share): 🍟 Poutine = $11.00 The business took cash only. The young man who served us at Pier Fries was miserable and disinterested in any conversation beyond the transaction. The poutine fascinated us: the crinkle cut fries had been freshly made and were lathered in a lovely gravy, alongside copious amounts of cold cheese curds. This was an unusual dish and would be great after a few beers! The portion size was good for sharing, which we did.

Pier French Fries recently opened up for the season. Their fries really are good. We also got a few of their hot dogs. This place is always busy in the summer. They have a 'Frequent Fryer' deal -- free fries instead of miles.

Best hot and fresh fries. Always tasty cooked in fresh oil for a perfect tasting fries. Must try when in the area any time of the year!!!

We dream of these fries all year waiting for our Maine vacation. In high season there will be a line. Great with the cheese sauce, gravy or ketchup.

Will return for the Fries but bring my own Ketchup!

Stopped by while visiting - tried the fries - fries are delicious and I would certainly make it a must spot to return to but I would bring my own ketchup - whatever was in the pump was way to liquidity to be "normal" ketchup.

Best fries anywhere. If you visit Old Orchard Beach, you have to get fries at Pier Fries. Get a “box” or you’ll be sad you didn’t.

I crave these fries when the place finally opens up for the season (which is way too short). We split a large box, with salt and plenty of ketchup. Heaven!
