Food ok but :-( Ugly place Noisy Low expectations If you ask a dish with no pili pili inside, they tell you that it’s ok, then they still serve it with with pili pili instead of recommend something else. And then if you can’t eat it because it’s way too spicy, they still charge you for it… what can I say ? Not professional et not even good, average low. I wouldn’t recommend the place for the restaurant and not even for the place.

Regarding the service is was excellent. Food quality is good and everyone is very friendly and ready a assist. Thank you for a wonderful well spend day. Would recommend this restaurant for family outings or visits anytime.

Evening spoilt by managers attitude

Our perfectly normal and enjoyable experience was ruined by the attitude of the manager Shane on duty that evening Treated me like a second class citizen reminiscent of apartheid days when my card did not work at the table . I went to another paypoint at entrance and the card worked first time. No apology offered by visibly hostile manager.

Terible experience

What a terrible experience. I'm new to Stellenbosch and heard of The palms from friends, last night eas my second night going there. The first time I went my service wasnt up to scratch, but I'm not the type of guest that complains easily, seeing I a have my own restaurant for the last 15 years, so I know the hustle is real. But last night was a huge disappointment. I had family friends qgo came to visit from the eastern cape and they also was so disappointed. We waited atleast 20 minutes for service, I had to get up an go ask someone to come help us, they were more worried about their shift ending. When our waiter got to us, she definitely wasn't keen on serving us. She had no tableside manners and did not make us feel welcome at all. She forgot our food order amd only came back after 10 minutes to come take our oder again as she forgot what we orderd. Then she still had a problme when we ordered Shusi, because it is to big issue to order shusi on the system. We got our food after a long time, not all at once and there was no cutlery or salt and pepper, buy the time the cutlery came our food was ice cold. This was a very disappointing evening. You should get your service up to scratch

Spicy food whether you like or not

I ordered chicken livers and asked for not spicy. Lo and behold, they came spicy and I couldn’t eat them. When the bill came I asked for a rebate but the owner refused. I felt pity for the waiter but paid the bill and left.

Racist experience at The Palms Pub & Grill Brackenfell, Cape Town

We purchased tickets to watch South Africa vs All blacks rugby game at The Palms Pub & Grill on Saturday, 7 October 2024. My husband(Coloured) invited his colleague and colleages wife (Black). After the game, we moved to the front of the venue and stood at the bar and ordered more drinks. My husbands colleague and his wife, went to the bathrooms. Upon there return, they asked the one young lady (White and looks about early twenties) if they could move past them to get to us, she wouldn't give way, and the wife was told "I don't give way to your kind". While we were standing there, the whites that wanted to pass through she gladly gave way to, laughed with them etc. When we left, we walked past them again and was met with ugly looks and she did not really want us to pass through. We were told she is the owners daughter and if we mention anything, it will be swept under the rug. This left a really bitter taste and will definitely not be supporting them anymore and will be advising others as well. Pity we can't give a 0 star review as one star is already too much.

Specials prices are a scam!

I took my family out for dinner to The Palms. Wanted to give them a special treat. Went on a Tuesday for their pizza specials. We received two menus, one with normal prices, and one with specials. We ordered pizzas from the Specials menu, keeping in mind our budget... When the bill came, we were charged the normal high prices. I feel scammed! They said in December they don't bill the Specials prices. When asked why then offer that menu they couldn't answer. I'm so upset, I'll never ever go back there again and would not recommend to anyone!!!

money was paid over by the company management didn't know anything about us that's coming money was paid in there bank account they insisted on proof of payment after they got the proof of payment they made us wait for a hour outside while they were setting up# very unprofessional# bad management skills# unacceptable

Big Screen Rugby

The Palms have always been a go to for watching Rugby on a very big screen. The vibe is always nice and you can enjoy the atmosphere with a few friends and a beer. There is a kids play area at the back for the family outings as well.

Jings, you can't get better anywhere!!!! Steak egg and chips for about R60.00 mid-week. And always divine and the lovliest wee waitress ever! My pal and I now go as often as we can. Love it.

Will never try again to give this place another chance. Have to drive all the way out on a dark road to get there. Nice band played with great songs. Place was not full for a Sat night. Not once did a waitress come and ask if we wanted something to eat. Had to get up 3 times to go and ask for a menu or some assistence. Finally someone took our starter order, brought the food and informed us that she will leaving because she only has 1 table to serve???? This was 19:30. We waited for ever again for a waitress and finally stood up again to go and find one. Asked her to come and take our order but never showed her face. Only when we asked for the bill she was there in a rush??? Place is dirty also behind the bar shelves are hanging and everything full of dust. Toilets floor are full of water. Inside the tent area are lots of non smoking notices but all the smokers ignored this and the place was filled with smoke. Had to ask the manager to please attend to this as they can get a hectic fine for allowing this to happen. Well needless to say after the terrible service we got up and drove the 6 km back to Kuilsriver in the rain to get a decent meal at Bossa Soneike and they didnt dissapoint us, great food and service. I give Palms another year before they close there doors. Will defn not recommend anyone to go there.

We took our family and friends for fathers day and my birthday for lunch on 16th June 2019. The service was horific. Food was awefull. Manager is talking more of his studies and what he wants to change than attending to the problems. 2 of us left without eating. We will never return or refer people again. This was not the first bad experience but surely the last
