Food was fantastic!

Food was fantastic! We all had huckleberry waffles or pancakes. The half order of the pancakes was still plenty of food! There was only one waitress working the busy morning shift and others showed up after the morning crowd was thinning out. I’m sure it would have made things easier, if both were working when it was busy. The one waitress did a fantastic job even though it was a lot of work for one person. We appreciated that the tables were spread out and that all the workers were wearing masks. This was the only restaurant in town where the staff was wearing masks, so thank you!! Would highly recommend!

Good eats in Wallace

Down home cooking with a regional twist. Huckleberry waffle breakfast was fabulous. Chicken fried steak arrived on two full size plates. Tasty but steak was tough in spite of being tenderized. Service effective and cheerful if not overworked for the amount of guests.

The best breakfast in town!!

This restaurant is a small cafe with lovely staff and delightful food. They have great coffee and some of the best breakfast food I’ve ever had. The bacon and sausage links are high quality meat that tasted amazing. The huckleberry pancakes are to die for. And the huge cinnamon roll that feeds 4 stood no chance. Highly recommend breakfast spot!

Great for dinner

The Brooks opens for dinner occasionally, typically during festivals and weekends in the summer. We visited during SkiJor and it was absolutely fantastic. I had the Verde Pork Shank but substituted huckleberry BBQ sauce for the Verde. Highly recommended.

Local, quality and inexpensive

Wallace seems like a almost ghost town in the off season. The hotel looks like it is stuck in the 19th century from the outside but their rooms are modern and inexpensive. Coffee shop type restaurant that has a great classic American menu. We stop here every trip from Missoula to Spokane.

Just Average, nothing special

Just an old building, nothing historic about it. Wasted my time searching the menu to be told they were out of my two choices. Lucky for us there were only two other diners or we might still be waiting on our food, slowwwwwww. On a good note the food was pretty good. Pick another restaurant.

Excellent breakfast, great service. Huckleberry waffle breakfast and the Miners breakfast were both amazing. They were responsive and timely in service and made sure we had everything we need. I will be checking at thier hotel first next time so I can go to thier breakfast without leaving the hotel which is super central.

Great breakfast

We stopped in for breakfast, on our last morning in town. It's a small place, with limited seating. I heard they get real busy. We were there right after they opened, so we were seated right away. The bacon and eggs were great. Service was good. There was only one server, but she did a good job keeping up. Prices were reasonable.

What a fantastic place to enjoy breakfast or lunch!! I enjoyed their Turkey/ avocado sandwich. They roast the turkey in house!! And the avocado was perfectly ripe. The service was fantastic.

Not to be trusted

I know it's not a big deal but small dishonesty causes HUGE mistrust. We had a dinner there, and I left GENEROUS tips in cash - don't believe in taxing gratitude. Nevertheless, they "rounded" the $40.13 amount to... $50.00. Sorry but there is no such thing as "level" or honesty - you either are honest or a crook. If you or I forget to pay for a pop can at a store, we get arrested and labeled a thief for life while this outfit somehow feels entitled to charge whatever it wants...

Huge breakfasts!

Make sure your belly is empty…. Huge portions for low prices. Food quality is top notch. I think the table wasn’t big enough for our plates and cups!

I think the food and service are good. We were going to eat at the Trailside Cafe but a friend who had eaten at both said the food here is much better. Portions are generous. I would do breakfast here again.

Had the Miners Breakfast. The biscuits and gravy are amazing!!!! Bacon was delicious. Eggs and hashbrowns were average.

There are few breakfast options in Wallace. After sending the night at the Brooks Hotel, this was definitely convenient. Our food was good and hot, waitress was friendly. Prices fair. I would return again if in the area.
