Excellent Mexican Food and Fun Ambience

I was super surprised at the delicious Mexican food in little Wallace Idaho! As a family we had the tamales and burritos and tacos. The tamales were exceptional: better than any place in Coeur D’ Alene! The food is spicy and high quality. The owner is a kind woman, who is greeting guests and waiting tables and not above busing tables. The ambience has custom bright and cheery art work and a head nod to Jack Black’s Nacho Libre. The prices are super reasonable. We loved the pork tacos and all the burritos were great! We each got a taste across the menu and nothing was “average”. All great! Yummmmmmy!

Delicious, Fantastic, Amazing Fresh Mexican Food!

Our family stumbled into Muchachos having no familiarity with Wallace. We love Mexican food and decided to give this new joint a chance. The food is absolutely and completely delicious. We ordered a fantastic appetizer of chips and queso that was just gourmet. Next, we had burritos, the wrap (I recommend!), and tacos. Everything was fresh. Every ingredient was carefully thought through. The owner was acting as the server, and her work ethic on the floor was similar to the care, love and attention that went into the food. This place is a special find. It is a magnificent little gem that should not be missed.

Absolutely worth the time and small effort to get well made fresh food from wonderful people

The welcome by Tracy (the owner) was warm and happy. Small, comfortable, casual space (with Nacho Libre playing silently on a TV) that underplays the great food (Topher the chef is equally nice and welcoming!). Our group of 4 had tacos, the Crunch and a burrito (started with some very nice, fresh guacamole) and all foods were enjoyed by all. The side of beans was interestingly a tasty highlight for a side dish. Vegetarians and meat eaters all pleased with the freshly made dishes. Spicy? Yup. Thought they’d happily keep it milder, but we were ready for some spicy goodness. Wallace, ID had a real gem in this place. We often pass by, but now we will be stopping here every time for real food, family-feeling of welcome, and great people. A rare find that is so well appreciated

Best food and best service in town

We tried 2 other well rated establishments in town and were either ignored or told they were no longer seating well before closing time before landing at this DIVINE establishment. We were immediately greeted with menus and cups of ice water in the 100+ degree heat. We ordered the Acapulco shrimp taco, the chicken Tlinga, and a beef one (can’t remember the name) on the recommendation of our wonderful server. Plus this fabulous concoction called the crunch wrap. Each was delightfully unique. Seriously some of the best tacos I’ve ever eaten.

Interesting tacos, service not so much

I had two of their tacos - adobo beef (that was tasty!) and their al pastor which was mediocre I thought. $10 for two tacos seemed a bit high considering but hey they were open unlike so many places in Wallace. Chips & salsa - don't bother. The server seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there and customers are an annoyance.

Blew my mind

Okay, first time eating here even though we've lived here for a while now and OMG. The cute little restaurant, the super friendly staff, the presentation of the food, and holy crap the taste. I got two tacos that came in soft warm white corn tortillas. I got one pork that came with a very very good green salsa and fresh cilantro. It was so crisp and fresh tasting, I was honestly surprised. The other taco was a shredded beef taco with this outrageously good red salsa that seemed to be a mole/chipotle type sauce and fresh cilantro. These tacos were over half filled just with the meat, which I really appreciated since a lot of places skimp on the meat. I just cannot get across how complex and incredible and unique but comforting these flavors were. Two tacos doesn't sound like a lot, but I couldn't finish mine and had to have my boyfriend take a few bites. I'm absolutely going to be craving Muchachos Tacos for the rest of eternity. I am already extremely excited to get it again. Seriously, you have to eat here.

Great Tacos & More

We've eaten here several times when in the area. The food is perfect for a late lunch/early dinner. Though the menu is not too extensive, there are many interesting and flavorful mexican style combinations available. This diner has a fun, friendly and colorful feel to it.

Absolutely delicious!

The food here is amazing! Our favorite was the crispito. (I think that was the name) and the Vegetarian taco. Absolutely delicious. And you didn't feel sick or heavy after eating any of it. They were understaffed, but worth the wait since only one woman was running the entire front end (waitress/busser/cashier). Would live to eat there again.

Unique and delicious!

The food is delicious. Truly it was hard to decide what to eat. Lots of great options and plenty of choices for gluten free. It was a great value for the price, and I loved the huckleberry lemonade. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

We ❤️ Muchachos Tacos! My extended family and I celebrated Christmas there..a few days after. The ambiance, service & food was AMAZING! We had the steak nachos, chicken Crunchwrap, tacos, queso & dip..just to name a few. AND HOLY GUACAMOLE 🥑 ! YUM!! The owners & staff take such pride in the establishment & it shows! THANK YOU!!
