We were on a scenic drive with teens and dogs for trail walks when needing to stop for lunch. They had a shaded outdoor seating and welcomed our group, providing fresh ice water for our thirsty dogs. Not only was the hospitality exceptional, but the food was excellent. Great place and great experience!

Found this place on a Monday afternoon after a bike ride on the trail! Delicious food and great service! I mean it was a real treat! I chose the prime rib dip. An amazing sandwich with a very tasty horseradish sauce! I also chose their mashed potatoes to go with it. Yumm. Between just the great sandwich, the jus, and the horseradish sauce I was happy! I would get it again in a heartbeat! My husband chose the jalapeño burger special with poppers. He loved it as he’s a spicy kind of guy. Took home a serving of bread pudding which came with a small cup of vanilla ice cream and I’ll be enjoying that later so I can’t review that. But I’m sure it’s gonna be great. Nice conversations with the staff as it wasn’t busy that late in the afternoon. Do yourself a favor stop and get yourself a meal! Thank me later..

We were turned away very rudly from a different restaurant nearby and decided to try the Hilltop. We were pleasantly surprised. There were 7 of us and they were quick to seat us, and were attentive, in a timely way, throughout the service. Food was good too!
We will be back.

While the waitress was wonderful and friendly, I ordered a chicken fried steak. Advertised as breaded cube steak. I received a large hamburger, not breaded steak. It was dry, the potatoes were instant and slightly runny. The best part was the gravy

Friends in Wallace took us here as it is a favorite hangout for them. It has great views and a good menu in a very casual setting. I had a sirloin steak that was cooked as I asked - always a priority! Our party also had fried shrimp and baby-back ribs. We enjoyed everything!

We are from out of town and needed a place to eat prior to a week of “off-grid” camping. This place looks deceiving from the outside but is a well maintained and great on the inside, as well as their back deck.
All the staff seemed extremely friendly and wanted to please their customers. The bartender took great pride in her homemade recipes.
Not sure what else to say other than you gotta try this place if you’re passing through. Drinks, meals, dessert, it’s all good!

I don't just handout 5 stars but they got the trifecta right (service-food-value). We had a group of 19 and they took real good care of us. Owner was in a couple of times talking to us and brought us some shrimp cakes. Service was right there, cold beer, food came out reasonable time for such a large group. So all the plates were on the large size and came with salad and potato. I tried quite a bit so the things I know are good are: blackened pork chops, riblets(huge), mashed potato, fries (more like curly cut thick), onion rings, chicken fried steak, prawns and bread. All at very good price.

We ran into the Hilltop bar and grill by accident when we were exploring around the Silver Valley in Idaho. We saw the sign and it said the place had been around since 1927, so immediately I knew we had to check it out. It's located on Old Highway 10, which was once the main highway through the valley but was bypassed by interstate 90 years ago, but the place survived and is now thriving once again. Great clean interior, nice bar. they are in the process of constructing a great deck with a bandstand.
We found that the place is run by Dave Albertini who used to own Albertini's in Spokane, one of the great old classic bars, across from the Ridpath Hotel, sadly no longer there. As it turned out working at Albertini's was my wife's first job and she had a great time talking with Dave.
The Hilltop offers great, fresh bar fare, I had the Hilltop burger and my wife had the fish and chips. Food came out quickly, nice and hot. Staff was nice and friendly. So stop in if you are in the area, I don't think you will be disappointed.

We went here with a party of 10. We drove out here from Harrison and everything about the evening was worth the drive. The service by the waitress was an absolute 10. My wife had the prime rib and I had the ribeye. Both were very good. Once again great food and incredible service. You owe it to yourself to try this place, you won't be sorry

We heard that the Hilltop had new owners and had recently remodeled and reopened their doors. WOW, this place has it all. A full service bar and wonderful ambience. The bar has tons of beautiful woodwork and is charming, welcoming and comfortable, don't let the modest outside fool you! We had lunch there as well and our food was delicious. I had a cheeseburger that was very good with an excellent corn chowder. Hubby had the Prime Rib Dip and it was very tender and flavorful along with terrific crispy on the outside and tender on the inside 'fry twists'. The staff was very friendly and the place was running smoothly which is pretty impressive since it just opened this week! This place is a local gem and we'll be back.

For all you hamburger lovers, you must try this place! It's a little hole in the wall place that is perched on the hill above I-90. Chances are, you'd drive by this place with no thought of giving it a try. Your loss.
It's been awhile since I'd been here, but the burgers and fries are still great. Their hamburger deluxe is large-and-in-charge. It features a 1/2 pound, hand thrown pattie, pickles, lots of Walla Walla sweet onion, tomato, shredded lettuce, and.....their secret sauce which brings all the flavors together. Their other burgers offer even more. So what are you waiting for.
It's a little out of the way...30 miles east of Coeur d'Alene on I-90.

The Hill Top Hamburger is best hamburger I have ever eaten. This hamnbaurger is large,it is loaded with al the regular makings that are normally used, with one exception, there is more of it and they are fresh. There are two side bowls furnushed that hold fresh sliced sweet onuon and pickles, so that you can add what you want. The hamburger comes with bacon and cheese. The secret sauce makes the combination of meat, cheese and vegetables burst with a delicious flavor while eating it. It is the best Hamburger ever. We go to the Hill Top Inn a minimum of once a month and it is a 30+ mile drive each way. If you ant to have a delicious dinner there on a Friday or Saturday, you have to have reservations. Low budget building, 5 star food.
