The quaint restaurant has the most yummy food. The employees go out of their way to make families welcome. The food is absolutely out of this world and affordable.

The freak shakes are legendary. The Chocolate Brownie comes topped with a delicious gooey brownie. The Candyman is adorned with candy floss and sweets. The coffee is good and well priced. The smell of the breakfast at the neighbouring table almost tempted me to order a plate. The Antiques shops has interesting stock and you can even purchase the tables used in the coffee shop. On a warm day, the outside seating is the best option.

We were attending provincial primary school cricket matches and was pushed for time when we decided to pop into Cafe 66 as it was close to where our match would be played. Being unfamiliar with the area we trusted the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. Noxi gave us a warm welcome and took in consideration that we were pushed for time. Service was quick and we were pleasantly surprised and overjoyed with the lovely and scrumptious breakfasts and good proper coffee. Pity we couldn’t stay longer and enjoy the ambience properly as it is a very creative and relaxing environment with a owner passionate about good food.

My husband took me to Cafe 66 for Mothers' Day. 20 minutes after arriving we had still not been given a menu or even greeted by the owner/manager, who was walking around with a clipboard, but totally ignoring us. I had to find a waitress to give us a menu, which she did with reluctance. After a further 10 minutes we still had not had our order taken, so I found another waiter to take it. We ordered a slice of quiche and a toasted sandwich, both of which should have been easy and quick to make or heat up. 25 minutes later and no food had arrived. We went to the kitchen to cancel our order, but was told it was about to come out. 10 minutes later we got it, minus any cutlery. It took 5 minutes to bring us knives and forks, by which time our food was cold. Cappuccino is not on the menu, sadly, a basic I would think. The restaurant has a beautiful position and is quirky in its decoration, but the chairs we sat on were very hard and still wet from the previous night's rain. A few cushions and some background jazzy music would give this place ambience. It was busy, which perhaps accounted somewhat for the terrible service, but oh my, some forethought that on Mothers' Day once might need extra help would have been a no brainer. There are so many other great places in the area to patronise, that I doubt we will go here again. Intending to have about 45 minutes of coffee and cake, we left after 90 minutes of mostly waiting, visited the market 100m down the road where there was lovely 60s music playing, a wonderful vibe and delicious coffee and eats. Wish we had started there in the first place!

This little gem hidden away in the hills is amazing. The management were very attentive to all the tables and the freak shakes were epic. We will definitely be back for a breakfast or lunch int he near future as the food looked amazing.

We came here for an afternoon freak shake treat and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Lovely views too.

I was treated to an early birthday brekkie at Cafe 66. It was everything I expected, relaxed country setting with the background noises of the Valley of a Thousand hills, warm winter sun and friendly staff. Our breakfast's were all superb, excellent quality ingredients - most delicious streaky bacon done to perfection, and a generous portion at that! Folk in our party had Eggs benedict and raved about the homemade sauce and all round flavour. The coffee is also a nice change from other venues in the vicinity! I saw other diners eating / drinking the freakshakes - oh to be a kid with those creations around, The candy freakshake was like a mini episode of Charlie and the Chocolate factory, they had all sorts of sweets / snakes/ bracelets hanging from them.

A lovely venue for breakfast or lunch especially on a good day enjoy the outdoor area. Quirky venue. A choice of some very good breakfasts my favourite being the croissant with scrambled egg and bacon. If you are there for lunch can't go wrong with one of their burgers or the delicious steak roll. Staff friendly and don't forget to have a first class coffee!

Suffering from over exposure to the the kitchen, back to varsity meal prep(27 frozen meals... just saying), the unusually attentive husband suggested a breakfast break... Being Sunday, and back to varsity, and cold and lethargic, we only arrived around 10am for brunch. A quaint, eclectic setting with a small menu. Other half opted for the Eggs Benedict, and myself, being a loather of eggs, ordered the butter croissant with scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes and rocket, without the scrambled eggs. 2 Cappuccinos to start, and out breakfast followed quite quickly. The meal was tasty, the service excellent and the meal, with an extra cappuccino and a "pomegranate and berry" juice came to less than R 250 rand. A pleasant morning, and a good choice for "something different on a Sunday"!

We often see Hey Jude (antique odds and ends shoppe) at the East Coast House and Garden Show and we were informed that there is a restaurant on site. So while you are waiting for your food you can browse. Botha's Hill can be a few degrees cooler than Durban so bring a jersey, but they do have an indoor section with gas heaters. This is not fine dining but the food is great! Most of us had burgers and they were exceptional. (Don't imagine Franchise food, think Gordon Ramsay!) The service was great and the owner (separate to Hey Jude) popped in often to check on us. We will be back!

I was so determined to have a Freak Shake, and this is what led me to Café 66. I had no idea where I was headed, but off I went, and a short drive through Botha's Hill and you find it on your right hand side, just before Kearsney College. They share premises with an antique shop in a wonderful house. You can choose to sit inside, amongst the antiques, a gorgeous old tables, surrounded by memories of a time gone by, or outside in the garden. Walk to the edge and be swept away by the view. Wow. But not the only wow. The food is fabulous. So I got to experience my freak shake, but also found a new favourite foodie haven. Yum. You have to go. Promise me...

I am embarrassed to say that I live very close to this Cafe and this was my first visit. After now experiencing it, I am happy to say that this will def. not be our last. The food was well preesented, tasty and reasonable. We have breakfast and coffee. Coffee needs some work but basics were there so will try it again. I love alternate, off the beaten track type of food, and Cafe 66 does not dissappoint. Take some time and get there early as they get busy. Great place and will def. be back

During the mad Christmas rush, we took time out to have a morning tea at Cafe 66. The mist had enveloped Botham Hill so it was stunning! First time we'd been there, staff were attentive and efficient. Coffee and cake was delicious and we enjoyed visiting the on site shop.

First time visit to Cafe66 - pleasant experience. Was greeted by staff who are extremely friendly and helpful. Coffee is excellent at this venue - so is the flat bread with roasted butternut, feta, mozzarella & pesto. Staff made sure we were satisfied with our meals and service at all times. Lovely gardens and play area for kids available. Peaceful and beautiful. Lots of antique furniture and crockery on sale as well. Perfect time-out venue when you have just had enough of the city life.
