We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Crown whilst on our holiday. Dog friendly was a definite bonus, we had 3 dogs and there was 8 of us. Horrible dark wet October evening. Very cosy and welcoming, friendly. Food was fantastic. We will certainly revisit...on our next holiday.More

My partner and I used this restaurant while on holiday in the local area. The meals were always hot and well presented. The staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble.

If you ever need a place that has quality food, the best hosts and character, this is the place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble for James and Abbey as they will give you the time you need no matter what they are doing....Attention to detail across the board on almost everything including the service. The breakfast is very substantial as are the meals at any other time. If I had to find any negatives it would be that the TV in the rooms could be a little bit bigger and the menu selection a bit more comprehensive. Saying that, they can't be doing too bad as most people from other towns/villages make a point of eating here. So much so, there is hardly ever a table free! Ensure to book early!! Will be staying here again when the time comes.More

Visited here mid week late September out of school holidays. It was quiet but felt a friendly place. They had a limited menu but enough choice and good gluten free options. We both chose off the specials board. We had starters of whitebait and tempura...vegetables which were both good. The lamb hot pot was large and tasty, the Bass was also good. A couple of pints of Exmoor Gold washed down a good meal.More

Fabulous place to stay. Excellent hearty breakfast and evening menu - we booked dinner for one night and extended to two it was that good. Excellent choice of local real and craft ales (no Tribute or Doombar!). The room was a nice size, very comfortable...and welcoming with a modern en-suite bathroom. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgable, and despite Covid preventative measures we were made to feel like special guests. With a great location for beaches and Coast path walking this will be an establishment we will return to.More

I love traditional village pubs and this is no exception. It is a very welcoming little place, and very popular - so you need to book. It is mostly given over to seating for diners. The standard menu is very good with nice traditional options...(fish and chips, steak etc) but also some interesting items like a shallot tarte tatin and arancini. This is complemented by a specials board which had some very interesting dishes, like plaice fillet stuffed with crayfish. The range of beer had items of interest for real ale devotees, craft beer lovers, as well as lager and cider. I was so impressed I went two consecutive evenings. The good thing is that the whole experience is not overpriced, and I felt it was excellent value for moneyMore

We came across this pub online and thought we'd give it a try whilst on holiday in Woolacombe. Was so pleased we did as it was the best meal we'd had all week. Pub is lovely & welcoming, staff so friendly & attentive and food...delicious. Wish we had this pub back home!! Can't rate it highly enough.More
