A great setting for a hungover breakfast, one of those hangovers where you can feel your thoughts rattling off of the inside of your skull and as you vow to never drink again. I went for the protein scramble as I am on a mission...to get back to 155lbs and be Fight Club Brad Pitt skinny. Real ones know. Much to my delight this protein scramble was a FULL plate, not the mouse sized portion I was anticipating. Chicken was cooked well, salad was dressed properly, eggs weren't runny thank GOD, and the Quinoa was well... Quinoa. THANK YOU BEACHSIDE! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__More

Friendly staff, quiet beach morning, and I never knew greek yogurt could be the best thing I have ever tasted. Affordable, easy parking in the hotel lot (by the Kayak Rental) and very laid back staff. Venice Canals are a short walk away.

It's always difficult to ascribe a numeric value to such a mixed experience but I have to come back to the fact that were we once again to stay across the street we would almost certainly never return to this restaurant. The bad news started...when we arrived with a reservation and had to wait while a swarm of people chatted in front of the hostess stand enjoying each other's company but apparently not expecting to be seated anytime soon. After a good bit of waiting, one of the people behind the desk came around asked us if we had a reservation and then seated us. Unfortunately, despite our reservation and the vacant tables 'in front' facing the water we were led around to one of the back side tables. We started with the Farmer's Salad which was fine and the Truffle Fries which were good...though sadly the highlight of the evening. The "Sweet Corn Ravioli" turned out to be not so much "Sweet Corn" as "Sweet Ravioli" - the sugar in the ravioli and lemon glaze had been bumped up to dessert proportions and my wife only had a few bites. I ordered the Beef Shortrib which I incorrectly assumed from the description would be an balanced entree of Beef, Brussel Sprouts, and Parsnips. Instead, the Brussels were AWOL, the parsnips a brushstroke on the plate, and the shortrib a huge hunk of sweetened beef. I too had only a few bites. Our actual server was good until after the salad and fries arrived when she disappeared for some time. And at the conclusion of the meal there was no, 'I see you've barely touched your entrees...was there something wrong' or '...can I get you something else instead...'. So we left.More

Make sure you keep your receipt and check their charge to your credit card. Had lunch with my friends in this restaurant couple of weeks ago. My friends paid cash and I charged my share to my credit card. One week later when I checked...my credit card statement online I noticed that the restaurant charged the whole bill to my credit card. I called them, talked to the manager and asked him to correct the error. He asked me to send them copy of my credit card receipt, which luckily I kept, and my credit card statement showing the charge. Finally after wastIng my time on providing the documentations and several phone calls and emails, they refunded my credit card for the overcharge four days after my initial phone call. I am still waiting for their letter of apology.More

I brought my mother here for a Mother's day brunch. It was perfect. We had a lovely and sweet waiter who handled our every need. We had one of the best located outdoor tables but this view of Mother's beach is a bit lackluster. Nevertheless...it was still nice and we were thankful for the clear clean glass which kept the winds at bay - recommend to bring a sweater. We each opted for the Bistec & Egg from the brunch menu. It was delicious! Lots of different flavors going on that I had no idea would go well together. You had the chimichurri on the steak, picked onion on the yucca, the dip for the plantains, and just enough curry flavor in the sauce to blend everything together. I appreciated the creativity from the chef and how everything sang well together. I deducted 1 star for the price point being a bit high for the plate IMO considering the surroundings and view. I would still go back for special occassions and I would and have recommended.More

Two friends and I had dinner tonight at Beachside Cafe. We are locals and have enjoyed happy hour here which is not offered anymore. We were overcharged $90.00 on our bill tonight! Thankfully we questioned the total and had the waiter revise our bills. Management...offered an apology of sorts but no compensation for their error!! Check your tab before paying.More

Old lumpy flan with half rotten fruit and who ever serves syrup with flan. Cheap, not homemade, flan for a whopping $14. saving grace , ok cocktails.

If you are staying at the Jamaica Bay Inn, this restaurant is attached to it, and makes the hotel a great place to stay. The food choices, although limited, are fantastic. There wasn't any food item we didn't like and since we were there for...five days, we had five breakfasts there, a couple of lunches, and two dinners. We took full advantage of our Hilton food and beverage credit of $ 36 daily. If there is a drawback it is that after five days, you want to simplify the eating choices by having two eggs over easy with some toast. You need to go elsewhere for that which is unfortunate. They are experts at the weekend Brunch type offerings though and that is the crowd they cater to which is understandable.More

We had a very nice meal here on our last night in LA. The restaurant it part of a hotel but can be booked separately. We were offered seating either inside or out but on this windy evening we plumped for inside seating which I...think was probably the right choice. The dining room is very airy and well ventilated. Service is very good here. We were assisted by Ron who was very personable and helpful. The menu is short but there are some interesting dishes on there. I chose a shrimp with jerk rub and grits which was very nice, well flavored but not overpowering. I, again, bemoan the lack of a "good rating" on TA since a jump from average to very good seems strange to me. This is a pleasant place to eat, somewhat expensive I guess but not too bad for the area. Maybe I am just getting used to the prices here. I would eat here again for sure. there is a good selection of wines including a few by the glass which is nice to see.More

Ordered breakfast from a very limited menu. Food was just ok but the price was outrageous. Over $25 for bacon, 2eggs, potatoes, one slice of toast and a cup of hot tea. Service was good but I won't be returning.

We went for dinner the night before the Super Bowl. The location is lovely, right on the water. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We ordered the Plantains for an appetizer and they were covered in a very sweet sauce. We had expected something more savory....I ordered the Mussels, which were tasty, but were lukewarm. They came in a cast iron pan which should have been too hot to handle, but wasn't. My friends ordered the Tuna Crudo which they said had more filling than Tuna. Overall, a disappointing dining experience, especially at their prices. Wouldn't visit again.More
